To put it plain and simple, it doesn't work. I've tried eel skin, and when I do get it to stick it lasts about 20 seconds. I believe that if he actually had a good suction cup it would work. Suction cup comes with the unit is virtually flat. Avoid, or prepare to rig it if you can. The unit is otherwise, well-made.

Very thin soft flat suction cup did not hold on gloss finished acoustic guitar at all.

It is trash. it doesn't stay on for more than 3 minutes. I even apply a vinyl strip on my guitar to try to increase the suction power but still the same. I do not recommend and I am glad that was cheap because it is totally useless.

I was hopeful that it would work. It seems to hold when you attach it. However after a few minutes of use it comes loose and falls off.

Worked well but when guitar wasn’t on stand it fell off due to its own weight. Suction cup seemed good but there must be a slow leak.Went back to my old fashioned Dynarette cushion
