We have four can light fixtures in the kitchen using screw-in BR40 bulbs that we had upgraded to screw-in LED bulbs a few years ago for energy savings. The trim rings had been showing their age and yellowing, these looked like a good replacement option. Halo is a well established manufacturer in the lighting business, so there are no concerns about the safety or quality of materials used in the product. Talk about easy, removed and replaced all four lights in about ten minutes. Unscrew the old flood bulb, release the springs holding the trim rings in place, screw in the pigtail harness to the socket, connect the fixture and slide the spring clips into the can before pushing back up. Having five selectable color temperatures is great, we like 5000K for a nice bright white light in the kitchen for prep and cooking. Also dimmable using a standard dimmer switch when you want to tone down the light and the mood later in the evening, will be purchasing Zigbee dimmer switches that I can program to automatically turn on low in the morning before waking up. All in all a great upgrade and highly recommended.

This review is for the HALO HLBT 6-Inch Slim LED Trim 6 Pack for New Construction/Remodel with Selectable Color Temperature, Indoor/Outdoor, Dimmable - 6-Pack - HLBT609FS5-6pk.I'm updating a few areas of our home, including replacing some old, cheaper than cheap bulb light fixtures in a low ceiling hallway and in a walk-in closet. These little flush mounted lights are perfect for the job. They are available in a smaller size, but that seemed more like for canned lighting. Mine are replacing existing fixtures that have aged out of attractiveness, if they ever had it in the first place.I debated getting the more modern looking dark color rim but opted for the white simply because these are not decorative items in my closet and hallway, I simply want to light the space. That said, even though our Spanish style home has lots of dark trim, I wanted these to melt into the scenery, not stand out as a decorative feature. I hope I made the right choice there, but white rims it is!

Easy to fit into existing can lights.I snapped into the baffle cone trim kits of my old existing can lights. Standard base screw adaptor fits with plenty of clearance.Light temperature selector is a nice option to have based on your preference and application.Gave the old Can and Bulb install a fresh look.Attached some photos of the current install - and new fixture in place and how they look lighted.

Living in a home built in 1997, our original recessed lighting was definitely showing its age. I was really looking forward to upgrading to something more modern and energy-efficient like these HALO slim LED trims. However, as someone who isn't particularly handy, I was also a bit apprehensive about the installation process.I'm happy to report that my worries were completely unfounded! These lights were incredibly easy to install. Seriously, it was a simple matter of removing the old fixture and popping these new ones in. Each light took me maybe 5 to 8 minutes from start to finish, including removing the old one. I honestly couldn't be happier with how straightforward it was.Another fantastic feature is the selectable color temperature. I really appreciated being able to cycle through the different pre-set light modes to perfectly match the existing color brightness of my other lights and fixtures in the house. It made the transition seamless and the overall lighting in the room looks consistent and well-integrated. If you're looking for an easy way to update your recessed lighting with a great-looking and versatile product, I highly recommend these HALO LED trims.

I have a drop ceiling in the basement and the cans installed were too deep and absorbed most of the light. I installed to of these in less than 10 minutes. The only issue I had was the switch to choose the color/brightness is so small and hard to read that I actually put them on two different settings. They are actually on opposite sides so it’s not that noticeable and I’m only 1 setting off. I cannot tell you how pleased I am with how well they brightened the space. I no longer feel like it’s a dungeon.It’s now just a basement🤣

HALO is one of the best brands of LED lights, ceiling lighting fixtures, and electrical boxes for them. When I had the opportunity to try these out, it's like I won the light lottery!There are a bazillion off-brand lighting options. However, many are either poor quality, or questionable in features or certifications.Installing these HALO 6" slim LED lights in an existing home was so easy. I had to use them outside though, because my inside can lights did not have any slots to hold the torsion springs... so check yours before you order. My exterior ones did have them, so changing them out was so fast and easy. I spent more time moving the ladder than I did installing the light.With so many color settings, it was nice to be able to choose the tone we wanted for each area. They are dimmable, but didn't need that function. We like them 'full blast'. Speaking of that, these lights surprised me with how well they distributed light. They cast light incredibly well, unlike many I have seen before.If you need to install a light, or replace older lights, you won't regret going with these. HALO is tried and true. Five stars *****
