I bought this tape for a cowboy hat I got that was too big. It came with a white and black roll. I used the white on a straw hat. I place it between the stretchy brim and the hat itself. It works great and is comfortable! I haven't used it much, so I'm not sure how the sticky tape will hold up over time and in heat, but I look forward to trying it and I would buy the tape again if needed.

I love hats, and wear them regularly. My hat size is somewhere between too small and too large, so finding a hat that fits perfectly can be a problem.A new hat that I received was just a tad too big, and felt as though it would fall off if I moved my head. A piece of this Hat Tape on either side of the crown, placed under the sweatband, snugged the hat up perfectly so that I can even go out on a windy day without concern. The two rolls of hat tape in this package will be enough for many, many hats, and having both black and white allows them to match the hat's color better. The tape is gummed on one side, covered by a paper liner which is easily removable. You use as much as needed on the sides, front and back, or all locations, to size the had to fit.Anyone who wears fitted hats, and has experienced problems with one which was too large, would do well to have this tape.

This is just foam tape, and it's a bit too dense to be really comfortable. It does work to tighten the fit on a hat. It is about a 1/8" thick so unless your hat is totally the wrong size a small strip seems to be sufficient to adjust the fit, at least that is all it took on mine.

When I ordered these, I thought they were a great idea. My husband wears a hat literally every time he steps outside and some of his hats have stretched out, do not have an adjuster & fly off when it's windy. When these arrived, I was a bit disappointed - it's just 2 rolls of really light weight foam with sticky on 1 side with a paper backing. The foam is a little thick - a little too thick to make a hat a little smaller inside. I wish it was a more absorbent, thinner material. It technically works but the adhesive is not great, and the foam is not super comfortable around the forehead. It's really cheaply made. Doesn't work very well. I do not recommend.

I use EVA foam sheets for making padded bands (browbands, collars, belts, harnesses, anything that needs a padded strap) and the hardest part is always getting it to stay in the same spot when punching holes for stitching. I saw this and thought the adhesive backing would be a perfect solution for that. They're smaller than I expected, definitely intended for only a few quick mends, but they'll be perfect for proof of concept. I'm sure when used for what they're intended for, they're great, too, though I don't have any hats that are too big for me unfortunately as I (also unfortunately) have a large head and finding hats that aren't too small is harder than finding hats that are too big.For $7 though, you can't go wrong, whatever your use-case is. These will be perfect for padded collars and browbands for sure, but not much wider (not that they were intended for that anyway!)

The foam on this hat tape is a little denser than what I’ve had in the past, which is nice, it doesn’t squish down as much so you need less of it to size your hat. The adhesive seems good. Time will tell how well it continues to stick. Just a couple tips:1. If you don’t need to put the tape all of the way around the inside of your hat to get it to fit, put equal length strips on each side. Do so by running tape along the inside until you get a snug fit, but don’t press it down yet. Then, if it’s not a long piece, cut it in half and put one half on the right side and the other on the left across from each other so your hat doesn’t look off center when worn. If it’s a long piece, cut it in quarters and do the same side to side then also front and back.2. If there is a sweatband on the inside of your hat and there is enough wiggle room in it, tuck the tape under the sweatband. This will minimize rubbing against the tape when you put the hat on and take it off, and loosening the adhesive.

Worked to make a too-large straw western hat fit my wife. Easy to put on, and so far staying in place after several wearings.

I used this for a bucket hat that was just large enough the wind would take it right off my head. I applied a strip all the way around and now my hat fits well, and I didn't even use half of one roll. I can always add another layer if it gets loose again. Note though- my hat has the usual inner 'pocket' that the tape went into, so it is not right up against my head, but rather between layers of the hat's cloth.
