didn't work with newer laptop and older projector. Had to buy one with its own power source, which worked great.

Did not want to replace my monitor while it’s in great condition, I updated my desktop but wasn’t able to connect to my monitor so this small gadget works perfectly, easy to install just plug to desktop and monitor and BINGO!!!!

As much as I love the latest and greatest in tech, I have to admit that when it comes to my beloved, 32' VGA monitor, I'm just not willing to give it up. I use it all the time, whether it be with my desk top, or my lap top, I just really love it that much! And that's where I started having a problem. When I got a Raspberry Pi, I found that HDMI was the only option, when it came to a display. I was bummed! What to do? And then I found this little gem, yay! Plug and play simplicity! Within minutes, I had my monitor back, in all of it's VGA glory! No color loss, no latency issues, just plugged it into the adapter and I was good to go!Highly recommend, if you need a quick, effective solution for when you really need to plug a VGA into a slot that only accepts HDMI! Five stars!

I've had this going on 4 months now. Thought I'd give it a try based on reviews and cheap price ($7). I use this with my extra monitor...monitor VGA to this VGA-HDMI adapter to my laptop HDMI port. When I take my laptop to go, I disconnect the this adapter from my laptop. Lately, when I reconnect the adapter to my laptop and turn the monitor on, no connection is recognized. I have to fiddle with the connection, turning my monitor on/off, sometimes 2-3 times and at some point it comes up. Hopefully the adapter isn't slowly flaking out. Maybe it's my laptop which got reimaged recently. Time will tell...Otherwise, when it is working, it's great. No issues.

I have 2 4:3 computer monitors from an old PC that were sitting around collecting dust, so I told the teen she could use them to extend the screen on her laptop; problem was, the older monitors connect via VGA cables. Solution, this little converter dongle. It's perfect. Plugged the VGA cord in, and then the dongle into the laptop, and all is well. (Of course there's more technical stuff in there like screen resolution and setup, but still.) The extended monitor works just as it did when it was wired directly to an older PC.
