This HUD works well. I thought it had a time feature, but I can't seem to find it.

Let's rewind to the late '80s. Expensive cars that were out of reach for most people started getting digital speedometers and some of them had HUD readouts. I dreamed that one day I'd have that.In the 90s the digital displays replaced some cars' speedometers, but no HUDs. 2000s+ didn't either. Then I saw this and had to try it.When I opened the box it had the HUD, a lighter socket adaptor, double-sided adhesive pad, and an odd screen protector. The unit uses mini-USB (WHO USES MINI ANYMORE?!) which is what the adaptor provided an interface for, but the power port on the side of the unit is intended for cars with driver on the righthand side of the car, and another port that's on the back. The rear port wasn't ideal for me, so I had to route the cord (which thankfully was generous in length) to the other side of the unit and tacked it down. The screen protector was about 50% too big, and wasn't referred to in the instructions at all, so I didn't put it on at first. I didn't use the adhesive pad since I have a dashboard cover and used a Command brand Velcro pad to hold it in place.Test drive was great. It was almost perfectly in-sync with my speedometer which is amazing since even Google Maps doesn't show as close a relation to my speed. The problem started when I turned directly into the sun. The HUD turned into a super bright rectangle on my windshield and made it difficult to see until I turned to another angle. So I cut the screen protector to size and hoped that maybe it was a polarized protector to make it usable when facing the sun. It helped about 30%; just enough to see the numbers when facing the sun. The glare was still on my dashboard but not as bad so I consider it a satisfactory, but not as mind-blowing as I had hoped. It won't stop me from continuing using it going forward, and maybe I'll find another solution to the glare problem.

Works great. It slides around a bit and it's usually too bright but it functions as intended. Easy to use, and pretty accurate.
