It does a good job closing the heavy door at the bar. It isn't really for a lightweight wooden door but if you got a big metal door, this is the one for you. It seems very expensive but for the extra security it might be worth it.

I’ve installed a few closers over the years, and what really sets this one apart is the universal mounting plate. It saved me from having to drill new holes into a fire-rated door, which would’ve been a nightmare. The pre-drilled holes lined up perfectly with the previous closer, making the whole install fast and frustration-free.Functionally, it’s top-notch. We’re using it on a high-traffic exterior door that weighs over 200 lbs, and the closer handles it effortlessly. The adjustable spring tension and backcheck let me fine-tune the operation based on how the door is used throughout the day. No more slamming or sticking—the door closes smooth and secure every time.Bonus points for meeting ANSI Grade 1 standards, being ADA compliant, and UL fire-rated. I also love that it works with top jamb, parallel, and standard mounting. Brinks really thought of everything with this design. Beefy construction and ideal for difficult installation conditions. Well suited as a replacement, the mounting plate can use old holes or cover them up. Lots of adjustment in the swing arm. Swing arm also has the ability to tilt/pivot for less than ideal alignment. Modern, dark black finish.

Really heavy duty closer. Looks like a perfect replacement for the door to the shop. I really like these Brinks closers. Finish is nice too with color options other than silver. Should hold up for a long time. Arrived as described.

This product is excellent, particularly due to the universal mounting plate. It made it very simple to install. It has an adjustable closing as well as latching and backcheck speeds. Brinks = always high quality!
