This is not an item you would use every day, but it does the job it's supposed to do and does it well. There's really no other way to tighten these types of clamps and this does it well.

Spent my life as an auto tech, last time I serviced a CV boot was probably 30 years ago, back then these were a "shop tool". The boots are splitting on my wife's car, caught it before they cracked open, new boots are on order and I got these pliers to crimp the boot clamps. I took an old axle sitting in the shop to test these (see pic) I used the clamps that came with the kit, to my surprise they are nice clamps and I won't hesitate to use them on my own cars. Clamp fits nice, pliers did a good job, all I wanted. The pliers are NOT high quality, but you aren't paying Snap-On prices either so... And how often will you use them? They did get the job done, all I wanted.
