To be upfront, I am no professional and hate this type of clamp band and have always struggled to install them. The caliber of my tool may be a part of the issue. That being said, I did feel that the ability to smoothly bend the smaller bands around the shaft was not all it could be- as it kinked and bent at sharp angles where the slots were. All in all, I believe I struggled about the same with these as I do with any..

Ordered 16 pieces, supposed to be eight small and eight large. Only received eight large. No paperwork provided to explain a "back order", or statement of "out of stock". Without an explanation of DELIBERATE shipment shortage this manufacturer and its vendor have committed an act of FRAUD!

Some months ago I removed the original band clamp covering my car's inner tie rod. Not having a metal band clamp at the time, I used a plastic cable tie to secure it. Rather than wait for the plastic tie to break or stretch, I cut it off and installed this metal band clamp. The smaller of these two clamp sizes was just a bit too small for this boot. So had to use the larger size, which worked ok, but there was a lot of extra band length. The end of the steering rack is very difficult to access, which made an otherwise simple process much more difficult. While I was able to get the band clamp secured in place, the excess length did manage to pop out the side (last photo). This made me reluctant to tighten the clamp any more than necessary. The clamp is well secured, it just doesn't look exactly professional. If I was to do it again, I would probably consider trimming off most of that excess before installation.

I got eight clamps in this set instead of 16. They seem to be well made but I can't really contest how well they will work until my handyman puts them to use.Universal Adjustable stainless steel drive shaft universal CV boot clamps.

Over the last couple of hundred Amazon items I have reviewed about half of them have been claimed to be manufactured out of Stainless Steel. Out of that 100 items, about half of them give you the grade of Stainless Steel they are made of, whether it be 304, 308, 309, 316 whatever. I have found that the 50 that do not specify the grade are usually all NOT stainless, or such poor quality I could not measure it. Out of the 50 who specify the grade, some are telling the truth, some are not. I believe that every single item where the manufacturer claimed their item was made of 316 stainless, they were telling the truth. This manufacturer, MSLANE, is an anomaly. They are in the first group, claiming to be Stainless but not specifying a grade. That automatically made me suspect that they were hiding something. I was pleasantly surprised that they were actually made from a higher quality stainless than I initially thought.I wish they would claim a grade because they are extremely non-magnetic and I am curious about them.Instead of going on about Metallurgy, perhaps I should get back to the item itself.Although there are only two sizes, they cover a large range because of their adjustability. The small ones go from ¾” up to 1 ½”. The large ones go from 2” all the way up to 4 ¾”. That should cover any CV boots you are replacing. You could even use these as hose clamps, but I would double them up on a fluid system because they are pretty skinny. They are also very easy to install, you just need a good pair of end nippers and do not overdo the hand-strength test or you will damage them.I highly recommend these CV Boot Clamps!

If you work on cars, trucks, motorcycles, ATVs, or anything else with an engine, you know that hose clamps and boot clamps are some of those supplies that you just need to have on hand. These are good quality and work really well. I will definitely order more when it's time.

What I received only had the 8 large clamps, the 8 small clamps were nowhere to be found.
