Worst part was pressing out the old ones and these back in. Only needed to grind a small area to allow the grease fitting to be used. After install I noticed the jeep was more responsive instead of being guided down the road.

My wife's 2012 Jeep failed inspection for the ball joints, so after a bit of looking, these popped up. They look very similar to some other brands "heavy duty" versions, so I gave them a chance. When they arrived, the quality seems pretty decent. The housings themselves are solid. These ball joints are greaseable instead of the factory's non-serviceable ones. They are pre-lubed, but once installed, I packed them with a bit more just to be sure. One thing that I noted and it did end up being a minor issue is that the threads on one of the upper ball joints were a bit mucked up (see photo, it's the left one). I ended up having to chase the thread on that one because I could tell that threading the nut further would have devolved into stripped threads. Anyhow, installing these was just as much of a pain as installing any ball joint. But that's just the way these things are. The instructions note that you may need to carve a bit of the "Inner C" on the bottom for clearance to the zerc fitting and sure enough you do. Make sure to break out the carbide bit or grinder. I had to grind about a 1/4" of metal away to clear the grease gun tip. Otherwise, all was well and went together as expected. It is a bit odd that the castle nuts are a different size than the OEM ones, but that's nitpicking. Everything went back together as intended and they work just fine. Good product here!
