If gardening were a comedy club the vast majority of leaf rakes would qualify as bad jokes. The emphasis on light weight means that most leaf rakes are made from brittle plastic or thin metal that bends and breaks all too easily. That's especially true when dealing with moist or wet leaves and mulch. When the Daxguard leaf rake appeared on Amazon Vine, I decided to see if the company was delivering something better. The box the rake arrived in was notably heavy, and I was impressed by the tool's substantial materials and construction. Assembly was easy and I spent an afternoon testing the rake on various materials and yard jobs. Overall, Daxguard has produced a leaf rake that is both comfortable to use should last for many years. My only caveat is the rake's screw-together handle--a style that's commonplace in home and yard tools produced in China. While that allows items to be packed and shipped more efficiently, many of those handle are flimsy and come apart too easily. So far, the Daxguard handle is working well and seems to be avoiding those problems. I plan to revise this review if that ever changes.

This rake looks as advertised. It comes as four pieces: three handle pieces and the rake head. It is very easy to assemble by twisting on and feels sturdy and lightweight. Because you can twist on the handle pieces, it is somewhat adjustable in length. It works well on the grass to rake the fallen leaves of our tree. I didn't notice the handle coming apart while raking, but I also have a very small yard. The tines can be sharp, so be careful not to injure yourself.

This is a very good rake. It works well, the weight is balanced and not too heavy or light. The construction is sturdy and it was easy to assemble. I can't find any fault in this rake and it is going to get a lot of use with all the trees around here dropping leaves. The handle is in three pieces so you could adjust the length by omitting one of the pieces if adjustability is an issue. However, it is not that long and seems to be a comfortable length for multiple people of varying heights. It is very easy to clean off after use.

You have to put it together, simple. I find the parts separate easily while raking. Nothing I can’t “handle”, but annoying.

Funny story about leaf rakes and my darling husband. When we took over his parents property, they left a ton of stuff behind, including like 4 old broken leaf rakes, which were all short handled and crappy. We used them for a couple years, but I got sick of them and went out and bought myself a bigger, stronger one with a longer padded handle. My husband wasn't too happy that I wouldn't just "use what we had".....yet that fall and since the purchase of that rake, my husband will "choose" my rake since it is bigger and has a wider set of tines and of course it is longer handled, too. Either way, I said in November when we were raking leaves again that I was going to buy another bigger rake, so we both had a good rake. That started the tirade about wasting money on a rake when we have 4 perfectly usable rakes in the shed. I was like, funny that you take mine though and you don't want to use any of those 4 short handled pieces of junk with the broken and bent tines. We actually had a laugh about it after that and I knew I was going to get one by this spring. So when I saw this one my Vine, I snagged it!! It is a nice big rake and while I haven't officially raked any leaves yet (that is a late fall after hunting season thing for us and we clearly have 3 feet of snow at this time), this will get a workout!! I am just wondering now, who will end up with this one. Will it be me, as intended, or will my darling husband find a way to get it into his hands? Time will tell.
