One piece (no holes or seams) alum front/sides w/ potted leads out the back.Short lead also connects to the alum housing.Phase of leads is RANDOM. Check before using in a phased array; possible issue w/ 'hot' housings. Not as sensitive as TCT40-16 transducers, maybe due to solid alum housing.

These worked perfectly for my application that required a transceiver. I don't know whether they would work when used as transmitters only or receivers only. However, I intend to find out...I'll keep you posted

I bought these to try using for a water tank level sensing as these sensors I have been using (ASIN B07FQCNXPP) only last a few months and I on my 3rd one of those that has just failed. Getting 4 of these HiLetgo ones for 8-bucks would be a steal if they work better and last longer. With no useful use and connection data form the vendor, I plugged one into the JSN board with the above mentioned ASIN, sensor. Bingo, it worked, but the quoted working distances are way off, less than half claimed.Maybe it is the JSN board or the Sketch I am using (provided on the web-page from ASIN B07FQCNXPP) but until HiLetgo provide some alternative hardware and software options for using them, that's all I have to use.So, minimum distance is around 30mm and the maximum is around 1500mm (1.5m) nothing remotely close to the 3.5m quoted. So if you want them for a reversing sensor then they may be fine, but anything over abou1500mm they are all over the place. Below is an actual cut and paste from Arduino output sensor aimed at an aluminum plate at 1.5mdistance = 156cm distance = 156cmdistance = 337cmdistance = 352cmdistance = 156cmdistance = 338cmdistance = 386cmdistance = 156cmdistance = 417cmdistance = 157cmThey do not work against softer surfaces. I tried a plastic garbage bin, a painted drywall wall and got no returns at all. Aimed at metal or a water surface they seem to reflect and detect just fine when used within the 0.3 to 1.4m range. To sum up, if these REALLY are capable of 0.3 to 3.5m then HiLetgo needs to provide some more information on how to make that happen. I am a big fan of HiLetgo products, but this one so far, is not one of those. Hopefully the vendor can clear this up with some working details for attaining that 3.5m.
