Now my mower charges again, battery is full every time. The included rectifier is a great bonus, it turns both charging coils into 1 strong DC+ current. Otherwise, in the charging coil, the red is battery+, the black is AC current for incandescent lights.You will need a flywheel removal tool to access the alternator location, and I recommend getting new flywheel keyway because mine sheered off and had to be replaced right after fixing the alternator.

Installed on 1998 Murry B&S 12.5 HP model number 287707 = works = almost 14 volts at high idle, low 13.## when at low idle barely running. I did have to rewire a bit to make it work on my no regulator B&S, but, it worked fine.
