It's the first time I've used wool batting in my quilt and this was a special 18th birthday quilt for my granddauhter away at college. I asked around and the No. 1 one wool batting recommended to me was Hobbs. When the topstitching is done with wool batting, it gives the quilt a slight puffy look--it was perfection! Glad I purchased this product.

I havent used wool batting before so when this came, I was surprised at how thin it was, but also how inconsistant it was in its thickness. Some parts of the 16" blocks I cut had large sections of thickness while the rest was thin. I am not sure how it will look once quilted. It might be better to buy wool batting that you can actually see and feel first.

I really loved the wool batt. First time trying it. Just be aware that it will puff quite a bit so you might want to be sure you quilt the heck out of your quilt or you don't mind the design standing out.

I layered this with cotton batting for a Christmas gift quilt. It seems to be thin on its own...first time I have used wool batting. I quilted it with my sit down quilting machine and had no trouble going through the thickness. No difference from sewing through only cotton batting. I'm sure it will be toasty warm in the cold weather!

It is my first time quilting with Washable Wood Batting. I am not a very experienced quilter but it was so easy to work with it.I will use it again. I was a little concerned when I received the product because it was not in the Hobbs package as indicated on the picture. It was no quilting instructions and had to go on the Internet for find the recommended quilting spacing. The batting is almost transparent and it could be a problem . I made a log cabin and in the light I can see from the back the silhouette of the red central square of the log. It is not a problem for me. The quilt is going to be used to go to ball games! The front of the quilt is batik and the back regular cotton fabric. The finished quilt is very light, but also very soft. The kind one when to curl up wiith.
