This rug pad really is water resistant and let friendly. I have a sweet senior kitty who sometimes pees on my bedroom rug. I bought an inexpensive new pet friendly rug and this pad, and my hardwood floors are protected. It resists odor, too.

I have a senior cat that has arthritis and diabetes, so she occasionally has accidents outside of the litter box. I put this rug under a normal rug so that any accidents don't soak down into the carpet. It's absolutely waterproof and it's made my life a whole lot easier! It's a bit thin, so I wouldn't use this on its own because it'll definitely get bunched up from normal daily activities. The best part is, I can replace the rugs whenever I want to give the cat room a refresh, without having to deep clean/replace the carpet!
