This is actually a great rug pad. I was able to use it on 3 rugs. The two bathroom rugs (gorilla rugs that WILL NOT stay put) the rug pad stays where I put it but the rugs slip off the pad! Looking for another way to tackle that. But the rug in front of my door stays on the pad and is not moving one bit! Love the pad - my bathroom rugs, not so much!

I’m an interior designer and purchase and install many rugs with various rug pad / rug sticker / rug backing solutions for our clients every year. Typically I only purchase the felt pads for our more expensive rugs, or if they’re made with more delicate natural materials, or if the room has a particularly hard floor or echo-y space that needs the extra padding for acoustic reasons. Those pads are generally 3x the price of the basic synthetic grid pads, or more, but also have a solid coating on one side of the felt for a firm non-slip grip (which also means that kind can be reversed, for use over existing carpet or on hard floors.) This pad isn’t that. I wouldn’t use it to keep a rug in place over a carpeted surface - you’ll want a different pad if that’s you. For hard surfaces though, like my apartment’s wood plants, this pad is nice and thick and stays in place fairly well. For the price point (under $60) at the time I purchased, it’s a great deal, and an easy upgrade to make a cheaper rugs feel more luxe. I’d agree that the non-slip dot pattern could be better, since I do still get a little slip between my rug and my too-slick floor, but I augmented this pad by placing a couple double sided rug stickers just along the exposed (walking path) edge and that entirely solves the problem.

Felt pads by their nature do not compress easily and does not provide much cushioning. The PVC non-slip granules are tiny dots on the backside that resist sliding while allowing repositioning of the pad which is a good balance for larger rugs and pads. The thickness of the rug pad is overstated at 0.25 inches. I measured it several different ways and the thickness is closer to 0.18 inches. A nine-layer stack measured just 1-5/8 inches versus calculated 9x0.25=2.25 inches. Length and width are 9x12 ft as listed. The thin felt pad cuts easily into smaller sections with household scissors. At $100 this pad was priced significantly higher than what a thin rug pad should sell for. The felt rug pad under my rug is an improvement versus the rug being on tile floor alone, but is still disappointingly hard to walk on.

This rug pad is high quality, has grip features underneath so it doesn't slide, and comes in several sizes. We used this in our kids room under their area rug, and I love it! It lays flat, it's at an affordable price, and it doesn't smell like plastic or chemicals. I would recommend and purchase again in the future!

I like this style for a real wood floor as there feels like there is more circulation, less suffocation/ potential floor damage as could happen with a pad which employs a full rubber underside. At this size, furniture anchors pretty easily but I suppose a smaller size I'd roll up first for a few days to help relax fold lines as it does arrive in it's own compact unit (great for portability). I feel this is a great balance (and price) for providing some comfort and floor protection whilst providing some ease to trimming and storing if necessary. It is very clean and tidy, not the super scrappy type like some others out there.

We have hard floors and we've had many rug pads over the years. This is a good quality, substantial pad with a non-slip backing. I ordered the 9x12 and it was true to size, which I appreciate. I cut it back by a couple of inches on all sides and secured it to the rug with a bit of double-sided carpet tape. You wouldn't think a 1/4 inch would make much of a difference under an area rug, but it does. You can tell the difference in cushioning immediately and it's enough to add a luxurious feel without making it a tripping hazard or a pain to go over with a vacuum. This pad is comparable to more expensive pads I've owned in the past. At the current price of $95.96 for the 9'x12' size, I think it's a good value.

It’s on the thinner side, but that’s clear by the measurements of the thickness. I have heavy furniture on top of it, so I haven’t had any issues with it sliding around on the floor. I’d say for the size, it’s very affordable. I love that it’s felt because it’s good for my LVP flooring and supposedly won’t cause any discoloration or anything, so that’s great! I’m pleased with it overall. I will say that I didn’t love that it was folded up when it arrived, as it does create lines and such, but fortunately underneath my rugs it’s not a problem.
