I got this door knob to put on my elderly mother's bedroom door. Let's just say...she has gotten a bit paranoid at night and has started barricading her door so bad guys can't sneak up on her when she is asleep. Since she can lock it on the inside with a button, she feels safe in knowing not only will bad guys be locked out, but nobody can lock her in either. There is a set of 3 keys that I can use in case of emergency and have to get in her room when it is locked. My very nice neighbor put the door knob set on. He said her door is only 1&1/8th inch a bit smaller than recommended, so it is a bit loose. I did notice on the instructions that came with it a kit for that size door can be ordered. It wasn't bad enough for me to bother with all that, he made it fit well enough. It took him about 30 minutes to take off the old knob set and put the new one on. It is a sturdy door knob set and looks nice. Really good price for my mom's piece of mind.

This is a high quality door knob with no major or minor issues, but with some notable circumstantial issues that might be possible. tldr; this is a solid door knob, make double sure this is the model you want.it came in adequate packaging for protection, with a opener key, spare screws, a full door knob assembly, and a slot plate for the door frame.it seems of good build quality and should last a long time, the parts seem well fitting and durable. it is coated with a black matte non shiny coating.installation is as easy as is reasonably exspectable for replacing a door knob. triple check your measurements, or be willing to use power tools to do thing like re-drill your bore hold for the door. (which is what i had to do for mine, as my hole was a few mm to small) this also come with a face plate on the inside, and one for the door frame. if you buying this as a replacement you may have to make sure the face plate will fit.the black matte finish is a nice look IMO, though if you use rings, when the coating gets scratched its much more apparent (consider going for shiny brass color if its an issue for you).triple check your measurements if you want an easy installation. i ended up having to dremel my borehole larger, and add an indent in my door for the face-plate, as the knob i was replacing was slightly smaller.of note is that the knob when unlocked has the vertical position in lock, which is different from the one i was replacing, also this is really easy to unlock as a coin turner, it can be unlocked with a butter knife, a coin, or a string fingernail. if that's an issue perhaps consider a model with an internal lock mechanism.

Great quality knobs. We upgraded the house. They feel very sturdy when turning. The inside was not the same shape as ours so we kept the original silver ones so they would close flush.
