The printer is fine. Getting the 8-months of ink was like getting multiple root canals with no novacaine. Very complicated process. HP has 3 websites and an app associated with it. Customer service is overseas. The phone calls (multiple) sound like talking through a hollow wrapping paper tube.Basically, you have to join "Instant Ink" on a separate web page. Then, whatever you do, don't click the icon that says you have a sample pack of ink. That's not the sample pack of ink that comes with the machine. They don't make this easy. That's an instant ink sample pack. If you punch in the code on the card enclosed with the printer then it will say that you are outside of the area that can receive the 8-months of free ink.Eventually, I had to send a picture of the card that came with the printer in order to get the "free" offer. BTW, Amazon help was no help at all. The chat guy gave me a phone number to some very rude Amazon guy who said, "Call HP" and then hung up on me mid-sentence after less than a minute. One would think that they'd be a bit more professional. One other aside; when I gave HP the serial number the response was, "That's an old machine. The warranty expired in 2022." Just an FYI. The machine itself has been fine, however. Good Luck!

You can do it anywhere by phone without needing wires, and the weight is not as heavy as I thought, and it can be used for multiple purposes such as scanning, copying, and faxing, so it was good to be like a mini office.

I have owned two of these printers, and both stopped printing Blue entirely after about a year. I changed the ink repeatedly, and went through the cleaning, and software updates , repeatedly , ans still no blue.I would not recommend this product fopr long term ownership or reliability

I bought this printer for while my son was home due to COVID. It worked well only TWICE printing a very simple color outlined image for him to color in. It later never printed correctly no matter how many settings and test prints I do. The ink ran out instantly. Fast forward to trying to trouble shoot it again by buying new ink for $80 and it has used almost half of the color ink but only prints in black. The ink seems to blend with black only when it hits the printer head, and prints black only. We’ve tried to troubleshoot the problem gonna avail. So not only did I spend a chunk of money on this terrible printer, but also wasted new ink on it. I would love to admit this is user error, but it is clearly a printer defect. Very disappointed as there’s no way to get my money back for it.

This printer stopped working about 8 days ago for a problem caused by HP Themselves, and for the same number of days I've been sick because it stopped working when I had loads of jobs to do and deliver, I depend on this printer big time, but HP alienated my printer, they completely, hijacked it. Worse yet, they have no competence to fix it, and they exhausted me with basic fixing advice after I had told them a million times that the problem was at their end, and not mine. It has been a horrible experience for me, to eluded myself that a big company such as PH will resolve your problems, not sweat. But it hasn't been the case for me, and still, 8 days and the problem persist. So, I have realized that PH corporative philosophy is cheap, it is passing on the bucket, or you are at fault, not them. I went from being blind with rage, to how I am now, just incredibly sad and disappointed, I am already getting used to the idea of having to get another printer.2021, June 11thThird (3rd) review, the second is here somewhere.21 long days now, since my printer was hijacked by HP, just short of a month of headache with HP and their ruthless and incompetent customer-tech services. Countless reports written in detail, every report was incremented with more and more details, to absolutely no avail. In 21 days I've must have filled up at least 5 requests for return phone calls, to no avail. This printer was a dream of mine, considering that PH was for years dedicated to, Wath I call, the non-sense and deformed design for home printers, but not this. It is beautiful, and it's a hybrid of office-home printer, just perfect for me, and it was working in total harmony with all else: Desktop and network (Wi-Fi,) until HP hijacked it by neutralizing the cartridges functions, the new ones I had put in, to force me to sigh up to their ink delivery program. I did sigh due to desperation to continue my work at home, but, after collecting my money, which they did just fine, they could not connect to my printer to validate the registration. Which begs the question: how come they manage to alienate my printer and make everything stop? That's daunting to me, and the explanation for that is 21 days old now.Maybe, someone who reads this, and understand what might be happening, could at least give me an insight as to what to do! Or, how to get this people on the phone!4th review, and it's from August 2022Sadly I have to reinforce my one star, the same problem happened again, for the fourth time, and again it was lots of screaming and shouting from my part.At my first review, right after I bought it muchbove a year ago, I've been going 10 years old in the last ten days. Keep in mind that, again, no body could fix the problem, even after I purchased they ink delivery subscription twice, so desperate I was. But, to no avail. At the first time, when the it took over a month to be fixed, it was fixed by this very cool fella. He and I clicked (good customers services skills. This fella, very relaxed and self-confident, chose soccer as the main topic of out time together, took over the control of my computer, and he and I were laughing when he just fixed it, by going to a part of the maintenance page and changing two digits, out of hundreds of other possible two digits, done. But the second time, to the fourth, it was a collection of "opened tickets," gosh I hate that, and no one came near to being able to fix it, again, that happened after I, out of desperation, was forced into sign into their ink whatever program. My god, such desperation to subtract money from us because I'm sure 8m not the only one with this problem. And, the worse yet, my printer ink functions was hijecked when I still had planty of all colours to go.I agree with whatever "cutting we off the program as punishment" because we fail the payment, but cut us off from distribution, stop sending and force us to buy it for 10 x the price of the subscription, but to allienate our printer, stop our productive life, our means to some deserving revenues, sounds to me like something lowless. As the problem when on, while their incompetence ruled, I even had one of the most impolite of them directing me to go silent and just do what he asked. Oh, that didn't go down unoticed by me. The worse yet, during the whole time they took their feeble turn, I keept pleading with them to go to those numbers, from the way it had been fixed at the first time, but they all made sure to just shut me off, and pretend they're not listening while I begged them to go there. They never listen to me, and yet the only solution they could come up with was a new set of cartridges in the mail, to one week later. During the time I'd been waiting for this new set of cartridges to arrive, they sent me one thousand apologetic letters, which I rebuffed one by one, and one survay (what a nerve,) but I wasted no time and everything I said, and wrote, was openly with Mr. HP in mind, and all addressed to him straight forward. However, before the new cartridges arrived, knowing that it would no fix the problem, I took my chances at a more complicated approaches, the ones they had never exploited it, and, lon and behold, I found those numbers I begged them to go there for as many times as I was denied, and plaid with it a little, what had I got to lose? But no, I fixed it by myself, and10 minutes after I'd started, my printer screen just got cleared of the blockage, and it still had the old cartridges inside, as the new set, the problem solvers, arrived 5 days later.I've been useing HP for over 30 years, I saw this two guys get rich, and also helped it. But this is the last. I'll will stlle with some second place brand, but with the same efficiency, and a more honest policies.

Home printers have been a huge challenge for a long time. Biggest problem is running out of ink at the time you need it the most.I was super apprehensive about HP’s insta ink subscription. But after a year of use. They have nailed it. The printer it self is awesome. However what made me come back and write a review after a year of use is their Insta Ink Subscription service. It’s caters to exactly my needs. It is relatively cheap. But it allows us to make full use without breaking the bank.Highly recommend the printer and the subscription service.

I love this printer...so far. It is nice to have a reliable printer for a change. The touch screen makes it so easy. The scanner and copy functions are great too. My favorite part is the instant ink trial. I love not having to shop for ink. My first shipment arrived the other day. My daughter is home schooling and my husband is working from home so we are printing more than we used to and this is a fabulous service.

This printer really works well and the setup was super easy. The only problem I encountered was the HP software interfacing with the latest Mac OS. Some of the apps may not work such as Easy Scan and HP utilities. These are known problems between HP and Apple and should be resolved in time. The print quality is excellent. I would suggest signing up for the Instant Ink service. I've been using it for years and it's well worth it. The HP tech support is very good should you need it.

Likes1) Easy to set up. You need basic understanding of hardware to remove unwanted packaging materials and fit ink cartridges. WiFi set up was also very easy. Instructions to 'run' calibrating test(s) were clear. You need from ten to fifteen minutes to be ready to use the printer depending on how familiar you are with "Personal Computing'.2) - Print qualityDislikes1) - None so far. I do not consider the price of the unit as a 'dislike'.Note: I did not avail of the "8 months of instant ink". My usage pattern is far too irregular.

Yes! Finally a printer that’s modern and works out of the box! This is my second printer I purchased within the last 30 days. My first was a canon image class LBP6230dw printer. It was a dinosaur printer that required adapters and CD to install drivers and connect to a network. It took me 3 days to realize this needs to be returned. The. I bought this officejet pro 8035. Out of the box the instructions were super easy to understand and the set up took less than 7 minutes. It’s modern and can detect your wi fi on its own!!!! Holy Smokes! The app for my phone was easy and the installation to my Mac book pro was just as easy. Basically all App controlled. Buy this printer if you want a modern, smart printer that won’t stress you out with the set up!

So the printer arrived quickly thanks to Prime 1 day delivery. Unpacking and set up was a breeze (pic 1)A few tips:1/ to install the ink jets, remove the white plastic tab (pic 2) and before lifting the cartridge door, make sure the scanner lid is lowered! Otherwise, the cartridge door will remain locked.2/ the wifi setup was automatic for me. I just downloaded the app on my laptop via 123.hp.com which directed me to the Windows store. After install, I gave permissions to the printer when asked if it could access my WIFI settings and voila!3/ to put in the papers, I used the HP 8.5 x 11 ultra-white, make sure to 1st remove the taped small cardboard piece (pic 3).4/ Do not skip the alignment adjustments step. Simply press ok and the printer will print the alignment page (see pic4). Then flip it face down and put it on the corner where the white arrow is (the printer will show you a visual guide anyways).5/ Firmware was updated automatically the 1st time I turned off the printer.First Impressions: Well it's only been a few hours and I've printed in both color and black and white. Text and images are crisp. Ink is not wet.The printer looks great. Love the design and red, white and black patterns.Maybe it was due to the firmware update but the printer did purr for about a minute when I was not printing anything. I subsequently printed a few pages and all seems well. Will update this review in a month after using the scanner and copy features as well.

This is the best home printer we've ever had. Prints quietly, fast, and so very easy to use. One word of caution. It comes with hp instant ink. We did not read through all the details. Things went awry. We purchased our own ink, we printed a ton of pages, we were only allowed ten pages per month, and we had to pay hp $128. For printing on our own printer with ink and paper we paid for. The service was cancelled two days after we signed up for it but they counted the entire thirty days. The printer is great, the instant ink service is garbage!! It is a choice.
