This little guitar is impossible to tune properly. On every guitar I have ever handled, if you fret the bass string, you get a note exactly matching the next string when played open. Unfortunately, this is not the case with this instrument. The sound is somewhat higher, which renders the instrument unplayable.

I really like this instrument. It's fun to play and a unique concept. Much like a ukulele, bur with metal strings (which I'm not a fan of nylon strings so that alone is a plus) so it has a different sound. That said you can probably expect to end up taking it to a music shop for some setup. The action is a little stiff, and as I've seen other reviews mention, the intonation on the first few frets is a tad sharp. But at only a couple hundred bucks, to have another instrument to enjoy, a little extra bucks to set it up is worth it.

This guitar is ultra-portable, even small enough to play in the passenger seat of a car without bugging your neighbors. The volume is also quiet which is great for playing in tiny spaces. Its tone is a blend of guitar and eukelele when tuned with the stock strings to recommended A on first string. The tuning on mine took about a day to stabilize, but it did stabilize well at that point. As others have noted, the lower fretted notes (roughly frets 1-4) have ugly intonation. It would be nice if that was better, but honestly it's OK for this price and portability. It might be fixable with thicker/tighter strings or just tuning up another whole step (haven't tried yet as I have no back-up strings on hand). The rest of the guitar stays reasonably in tune, and sounds much better than the low end. It seems to have a very bright/sweet sound to it naturally.

Great size! Awesome for backpacking amd taking literally anywhere... Sounds awful, but that's too be expected considering it's size. Great option for those who want something small enough to fit in a backpack without being annoying.

It's really neat and fun to play, but you may need to file the string slots in the nut if you want decent intonation. It sounded pretty terrible right out of the box.EDIT (6/7/2021): In response to another reviewer - Guitar was tuned to 1A,2E,3C,4G,5D,6A when reviewed.

Wanted to love it but this thing absolutely won’t stay in tune and it’s original strings are garbage (forget trying to do slides). You get what you pay for. I’m returning this and splurging on the Taylor Mini instead.

I literally cannot fret a note in tune with the open string. I’m going to have to do a lot of work on the nut height to even get it to intonate. Can’t say I expected perfection, but it not even being close to proper intonation?? Just annoying.
