TLDR: Overall it's a great fridge with some odd quirks that could be very important to you, the biggest being Iceco's definition front/back/left/right.Spent a looooong time researching 12V fridges before buying this and even bought (and returned) a Renogy one before settling on the JP40 ProD. Would love to give this 5 stars but there are a few important downsides that buyers should know about. I really wanted the app and dual zone (and liked the size/weight), but overall I like the looks and features of the VL45 Pro much better. The APL55 was way too large/heavy for my needs. I'm still very happy with the fridge overall (huge upgrade from my previous Costway 55L that is dying) just want to list all of my minor gripes so that others are aware.FYI I picked mine up during their "Pre-Prime Day Sale" for 15% off then on Prime Day they actually had it slightly cheaper (maybe $20-30?) and with a free gift (tie down kit). Luckily they were kind enough to give me a small refund (not the full difference) and send me the tie down kit as a complimentary gift since it had only been a few days.Pros- Cools very quickly- Dual zone seems to work very effectively and a magnetic sensor in the divider tells the fridge whether it's one zone or two. Quickly/easily switched from left fridge + right freezer to freezer + freezer to left freezer + right fridge- holds temp pretty well even during intermittent power interruptions, I let it cool to 35 then turned it off and after a few hours it was still in the 50s which is not too bad in my estimation (in my 95-100° South Texas garage). It was also completely empty, would almost certainly be more efficient if full. It's no Yeti staying cool for days unplugged, but that's not the point of a 12V fridge.- Fairly light for an Iceco (or any "name brand") fridge. Most others I considered are at least 10lbs more even for a smaller volume)- Feels nice/strong/robust- App seems to work well, although I wish you could type a number instead of pressing +/- 30x- Easy to use with wheels/handle or mount to a slide- 5 year warranty (hopefully I don't have to find out if they uphold it)- SECOP compressor like Dometic USED TO USE (now Dometic uses a proprietary variable speed compressor it seems)- DC/12V in on both ends- included a very nice right angle DC plug, it's the "upgraded" one they used to charge extra for and not the cheap one with the red tip shown in the product photos. I expected to replace the end with a Blue Sea cigarette adapter, but this one is very nice and I'm going to use it- Built in 12V converter for AC (no need for a huge power brick)- Looks and feels much nicer than most other lightweight/plastic ones, which to me look/feel like Coleman coolers with a compressor built in.Meh- Has a USB out, maybe this is useful to some but I don't really understand who's charging their phone from the fridge instead of a much more portable power brick, USB brick or port, or LiFePO3 power station if so inclined. They're also on the back (technically front, more on that below) side of the fridge. Don't see myself ever using them.- Includes a cover, and it fits very well (not loose/baggy). I'm using it but the zipper lid opens crossways while the fridge lid opens long ways, seems counterintuitive. I was able to get it over the big handle, and make it look clean, even though I saw another reviewer say you can't. I do like the pockets for storing the unused AC or DC cable but would prefer a cover more like the VL45 Pro cover.- I would have also preferred a side open lid, but I do like this lid design and latches so far- Would prefer if the compressor (and therefore venting) was on the front (back) side- UV Light, seems neat time will tell if it's actually useful- So far customer service/tech support has been very kind and accommodating, replying within 24 hours every time (more on that below), but a lot of their answers have not been super helpful/what I wanted to hearCons -- Features seem to have been put together by 2 (or maybe 3?) separate designers working from different angles. What appears to be the front (with the display/controls) is actually the back, although according to the app the front zone is the left (or is it right? also how hard is it to just fix this on an app update?). Most power ports are on the back (front) side making them harder to access in my application. Iceco makes several other fridges with this oriented properly, no idea why they switched it up on the JP series. I can see how in some (very limited) applications it could be useful but not generally, and seems counterintuitive overall.-- Interior only lights up if you open from the back (front) side unless you open it over halfway (I assume there's a sensor that is more easily triggered from the back (front)).-- AC outlet is on the back (front) side, so if it's in your vehicle like mine is you have to get to the back side to plug in the shorepower cord- In addition to the AC being on the back (front), the DC port is oriented so that you can't have it plugged in at the same time as the AC and can't just leave the shore power plugged in unless you put the DC plug in the front (back) side, making it more difficult to hide wires- They claim "LA Local Technical Support" on all of the ads I see but after submitting to the website form, chatting with an Amazon sales rep, joining the FB group, and emailing their tech support directly it's clear that no one is in the US. You will get 100% of replies between 9PM - 5 AM CST, with 90% of my replies coming around 2-4 AM CST.- Occasionally I have to sort of press down on the lid before the release will catch and open. It's not a huge deal, but a little annoying from a lid design I otherwise like overall- should include, or at least have available 1-2 more baskets. The bigger compartment is just kinda open so stuff can roll off the little shelf into the bigger area. One reviewer said they were able to purchase a second basket from Iceco, but they refused to sell me one. I did create a divider from HDPE cutting board to separate the shelf from the compartment utilizing the little notches at the top (seems like they were created for something like this but none of the designers followed through on the concept, not sure what else those could be for and they perfectly align with the corner). Will try to update review after I've used it more.
