InnoMax Thermal Guardian Touch Temp Full Watt Solid State Waterbed Heaters, for use with minimum 9" depth waterbeds in rigid side box or wood waterbed frames, are Certified to the standards of the Underwriter's Laboratories (UL) for Waterbed Heaters No.1445. State-of-the-art Ultra sensitive electronic control that holds the temperature to 1/8 degree of set point, ensuring consistent and accurate temperature sensing so your body can experience the deepest most restful sleep rather than working to keep itself warm by shivering or cool by sweating. InnoMax has been committed to producing the safest and most reliable products since 1975. As such, InnoMax Thermal Guardian heaters are visibly thicker as they are built to higher standards with waterproof vinyl enclosures, heat shields, L-Cut safety fuses and many other safety features not found in competitive heaters. InnoMax's Waterbed Heater Pad is larger than competitive heaters because dispersing power over a greater area will ensure lower operating temperatures and eliminate hot spots. It is simple to understand why a larger heater pad is superior. The temperature watt and temperature density of a larger pad helps extend the life of your waterbed mattress, safety liner and of course your waterbed heater. InnoMax consumer friendly Thermal Guardian Waterbed Heaters provide accuracy to 1/8 degree offering precise sleep environment temperature control and promoting energy efficiency. InnoMax Thermal Guardian Waterbed Heaters offer deeply satisfying winter warmth and refreshing coolness in summer for a sleep environment that offers comfort beyond compare and can offset heating or cooling bills for the whole house.

Be sure to lay the heat pad flat. The controller will outlast the heat pad. I have purchased no less than 4 over the years, heat pads have gone out between 5-8yrs, engineered obsolescence.

The hardest part on installing my new heater was emptying the bed. Heaters should be installed under the safety liner, so the mattress has to be completely drained. The instructions are very clear and printed right on the heater. The thermostat is rubber covered, not bare copper like my old one - a major plus. Once installed, it still took several days to bring it up to 85 degrees. The very visible temp indicator flashes while heating. Once heated, the temp indicator stays steady on. I might mention that it usually remains steady on for less than 10 seconds, then begins flashing again for about ten seconds, then back to steady. I think this is normal for any heater, as similar activity was observed on my old unit. All in all, I am quite pleased with the overall design and operation of this heater, and I really like the easy to read temp indicator.

I've had this waterbed heater since 2019, and it does the job. I much prefer the easy to read temperature readout to some of the dials, although when it is changing temperatures, the blinking of the red light can be distracting at night. I usually cover the read-out when I'm not needing to see the temperature.I have very acute hearing, so this may not bother anyone else, but at night I could sometimes hear a buzzing noise that my previous heater did not emit. Buzz. Stop. Buzz. Stop. It's very distracting to me, but it's not always present. This heater will probably last about 5 years. Mine inconveniently went on the fritz soon after the warranty expired. But that's fairly standard for most electronics these days. Don't expect them to last much longer than the warranty.Despite this, I'd say it's a solid product.

I chose this one as it had next day delivery and Amazon delivered. When your waterbed heater goes out, you don't want to wait too long for delivery. I plugged it in and it was hot while I was refilling the mattress. This model has a digital readout which I like. It flashes while heating and becomes steady when it achieves the desired temperature. The light is too bright, and I would have liked a light time-out switch. My old heater had a light too and it was on, but it wasn't heating.

Goes in almost identically to standard waterbed heaters and controllers. Holds temperature accurately. The flashing display makes you a bit more aware of when the heater is on. Sometimes I will kick up the setting one degree for a couple of hours, and turn it down when I go to bed. This quiets the flashing display most of the night, but I'm getting used to it. Use warm water to refill you waterbed if you can; a 300w heater maintains heat well, but doesn't heat cold water very quickly. I actually installed this pad and controller, and a second "old school" dial and light pad and controller on the other side. I used both systems to initially heat the waterbed, and unplugged one to maintain the temperature. If problems with one system occurs, I will plug in the other, and be back in business without draining the bed again.

I bought this in spite of some reviews indicating it did not heat well. My previous heater died suddenly, so I needed one right away and didn't have time to do a lot of research. I drained the bed almost all the way, removed the old heater pad and replaced it with this one. I refilled the bed with warm water (as much as I had) and when finished the bed was cool, but not cold to the touch. I slept on it that night and buy early the next morning the bed had reached the 88 degrees I had set it to. I ended bumping it up another degree, and within an hour the thermostat had cycled off again. By the way, I have a no-baffle Cal-King mattress. So... short story, I am happy with the speed at which it heated the bed, and happy the thermostat seems to be accurate. I can't speak to the longevity of the heater yet, but my last one lasted about 10-years. If this one equals or exceeds that I'll be happy. And, there was some complaints about the blinking light (led temperature indicator) and noise. The control unit only blinks when it's in the heating mode, and I mounted the control unit about 12 inches from my head. I can not hear any noise coming from it, and I don't notice the light, blinking or otherwise. Don't be afraid to buy it from the negative reviews. I think you will be happy with it.

We have both a King size and a Queen size free floating waterbed in our home. The heater ( Innomax Dial Type ) lasted 3 years. It was not ordered through Amazon.com but directly from Waterbed Gallery in Canada. Waterbed Gallery in Canada sell the same brands of Waterbed heaters and mattress that are available on Amazon.com, but they do not carry or sell this digital read out heater. They only carry the Innomax Dial model. The heater arrived quickly and was neatly packaged all rolled up into a cylinder shape. It was super easy to install and it appears to be working very well and is surprisingly very accurate on controlling the exact same temperature to the mattress that is displayed on the read out. I will update my review in a few months. The clear red digital read out only blinks when its actually heating the mattress. There is absolutely ZERO noise when it is heating as reported by others. At all other times ( when the heat is up ) the temp reading stays solid and does not blink. You have an on and off button in the centre and the left button is down for less heat and the right button is up for more heat. I find that 83F or 84 F is a pretty good starting temperature for any waterbed.Heres hoping I get more than 2 years out of my new heater. I ordered a second one just to have as a spare and I also ordered a "Free Flow" King and Queen size waterbed mattress. Trust me. Its super wise to always keep a spare mattress and heater on hand when you own waterbeds.

I Like It, I selected this unit since it has a digital display, it does not heat up as fast as my many previous water bed heaters & I like it for those reasons, the ones that heat up too fast make a hot spot on the mattress when it is heating. The digital display is far superior to rotating a knob; you see what the setting is. The set point reading blinks when it is heating, that was a little distracting the first few days but I do not notice it now that it has been in use for 2 weeks. I filled the mattress with warm water and it was up to temperature in 8 hours, I set it at 95 degrees when I first filled it and have gradually turned it down and have it set at 85 now. I have come to the realization that I should be replacing the mattress and heater when one of them fails about every 5 years. Amazon has a great selection to choose from and it arrives is a few days. I did not need to drive around town looking for a retailer that may only carry one or two units.
