FINALLY installed a high quality dryer vent, replaced a cheap flimsy vent that was on the side of the house. This is WELL WORTH IT.... really like the magnetic feature that keeps the door closed when the dryer is off, and the fact that this is the last dryer vent I'll have to install. HIGH QUALITY is worth paying a bit extra !

This is a sturdy vent cap that should last for many years. Manufacturing quality looks good, and the flapper functions well (held closed by a magnet when the dryer is not running). I installed mine through a 2x6 wall by securing a 9-inch stub of 4-inch aluminum duct to the vent cap with both a bead of caulk and peel-and-stick foil tape - that left about 3 inches of exposed duct inside the house, to which the dryer duct was attached with a 4" hose clamp. Four stainless steel screws were used to secure the vent cap to the house siding, with a bead of caulk applied around the sides and top of the vent cap to seal it against the siding. This product should easily outlast cheap plastic and aluminum dryer vent caps, and it looks better too.

My house is over 50 years old and the dryer vent was replaced one time with a cover thinner than a can of soda pop. The flap would stick open from lint accumulation and would bang when it was very windy. Bought this cover since it had the magnets and has the powder coated finish.My vent opening was slightly too small for the collar as there were pressure points on the top and bottom where the vent tubing was notched to itself. I notched out the pressure points on the collar with a tin snips and it fit perfectly. I mounted with tapcon screws and 3 took and 1 was in mortar so as expected the mortar crumbled.I reattached the cover piece and caulked the top and sides. It looks so much better and only opens when the dryer is on. I know no rodents or insects will get in.This was money will spent. Ohio Supply shipped very quickly too.

I am impressed with the quality of this vent and the ease of installation. Instead of drilling my brick for the mounting holes, I used liquid nails and simply glued it into place. Very solid and looks nicer than the cheap one that came on my new home. Made in USA and it shows.

I looked all over the place for a vent cover that was durable and not overly expensive. Ultimately I bought this - spending way more than I ever could have imagined on something no one will ever appreciate but me! But man, it has been worth every penny. Our vent sits very close to the ground, only a couple of feet up, so I was particularly concerned about animals and bugs getting in. This thing works great, fairly easy to install and seems to work as intended. We'll see how it stands up to brutal Maine winters but I can't imagine anything will happen to it - it's so solid! Very pleased, just wish it cost about $15 less than it does.

Short story: Hands-down, this is not only the perfect metal dryer vent, it is the only metal dryer vent you should consider. Long story: To meet wildland-urban interface requirements for certification of our home for fire safety, we were required to replace our plastic dryer vent. After extensive onsite and online research, I found that metal vents fall into three categories: 1. Cheap junk from China sold at all the big-box stores and online, 2. Knock-off copies of this Inovate vent that just don’t quite get it right, and 3. This vent. Here are the important points: 1. Unlike all the other vents with a flap, this vent flap is angled slightly outward towards the bottom, so it always closes. 2. The magnets are just right to keep the vent closed, but open easily with normal dryer output. 3. The measurements are exact, and the collar fits tightly into a standard 4-inch duct (our size). 4. The construction and finish are both robust (probably more than is necessary) and flawless. 5. At $42, it really is only a few dollars more than all the worthless competition. You will not regret purchasing this vent cover.

It is quite pricy but, it is very heavy duty construction for a dryer vent! Fit and finish is also good. I purchased this as a replacement for a worn out plastic vent. Having said that, it was super easy to install even though i had to do some cutting of the existing siding! I would have given a 5 out 5 star but this did not come with any hardware! For the price, I think it should include some hardware for installation. I believe this will be the last dryer vent I will ever need! I would recommend this product to anyone tired of buying plastic junk that doesn't last!
