So here's the thing. P1004 is a permanent code the car has to clear by being driven. The part works. My car gave me 2 P2017 codes that I was able to clear. A contact says drive it street and highway and in about a month it should clear P1004. Pulling the fuse / disconnecting the battery won't clear it if it's showing permanent. There might be an obd scanner that can clear it. It's called thinkcar I believe it's about 5 grand. (No thank you) once the part has been changed just let the car clear the code unless you have a thinkcar scanner. I've had no issues from the part after I changed it and replaced the map sensor.
