I had my first one for almost 6 years until I pulled to hard and broke it. Needless to say, it was my fault and this product is great that’s why I purchased another one!

I have the device connecting a ps4 to a set of speakers and an older lcd monitor. So far it works great, wouldn't even know it wasn't on hdmi if I hadn't set it up myself. I have however not tried play hdcp content yet.

Functions, but within a week the power input broke (snapped off the internal board) and rendered the item unusable. I plan on getting another because it's the cheapest option, but if another breaks so soon, I'll move on to another brand. Would be nice if it came with its own power supply.EDIT: The power input broke on the second one I received like the first, I will be moving to another option/brand.

Look, These things wasted my time and money. I sat there bought this so I can play on monitor with my PS4 and they didn't work my monitor. So at first I thought. Maybe I should just return them probably cuz my monitor can't support them BUT before I did that I decided to try it one more time and when I did, the micro usb input automatically broke off. So, If I were you, I'd make sure your monitor can support this before buying this product. NOTE** it doesn't come with a micro usb. And you might need a 5 volt wall charger if you get a micro usb for it.

The adaptor worked fine out of the box. I have run it with a couple of different monitors and video projectors, no complaint.

The IOGear HDMI to VGA adapter with sound worked as I expected with one exception. I needed to connect an external power supply which was not included.I connected it to a Netgear P2TV 3000 Miracast receiver in order to mirror the display of my Surface Pro 2 to older projectors that do not have HDMI input. So, my setup was the Netgear P2TV 3000 connected to the IOGear HDMI to VGA adapter connected to a data projector. It did not work at first and then I remembered that I had read somewhere that one might need an external power supply. When I read the manual afterwards, I read that if the HDMI output to which you connect the IOGear adapter provides less than 200mA, you need an external power supply.I was a bit disappointed that this was not included with the package because at this price point I would expect everything to be included.Nevertheless, once the standard power supply from my mobile phone was connected, everything worked perfectly. The sound output was also good.
