The most important thing to consider here is that the cable is unidirectional, not bi-directional. The source has to be HDMI. So, you can plug the HDMI end into your computer and the VGA end into a monitor or projector or whatever else you might have to receive the signal. For what it does, it works fine. No complaints.

Got this to use with old consoles so I could plug them into my tv. Not had any issues so far, seems to be a good quality cable and works as expected.

Es kommt doch schon Mal vor, dass man zwar den Rechner tauscht, aber aus bestimmten Gründen den Monitor belassen muss (z.B. Touchscreen, fest eingebaut) um diesen zu einem späteren Zeitpunkt auszutauschen.Hier hilft dieses Kabel ungemein, da viele moderne Rechner keinen VGA-Anschluß mehr haben.

I have a perfectly good VGA monitor but none of my computers or docks have VGA inputs for monitors. This cable is long enough to reach where it needs to, and allows me to use my old monitor with a newer HDMI-based computer. Picture is as good as I remember the monitor looking on older computers with direct VGA inputs. Value-based option for using equipment that still works and not spending additional money and having old equipment end up in a landfill. Very satisfied.
