I installed these on the rear of my hybrid hobby/fishing kayak to replace a universal scotty-style mount that I relocated to the front of the kayak The install was easy using a rotary tool with cutting bit to make quick work of the poly-plastic kayak hull. If you go the route of using a hole saw, you will find out quickly you need to elongate the hole since the holder inserts at an angle (hence why the fishing rod will not be sitting straight upright in the holder). What worked for me to make this a 15 minute install (for two holders) was to use the gasket as a marking template, cut out the hole with a rotary tool/bit, then use a round-over rasp file to chamfer the edges and make the small clean-outs where needed to get a snug fit.I then used the tiniest drill bit i could find to make a pilot hole for the mounting screws - and made sure I did NOT over-tighten.

I put them in a little plastic Jon boat and they are great. Easy install, really secure, and close tube means no water in the hull. A+++

Fit perfectly in my two Pelican Mission 100 kayaks that Costco sells. I used some RV sealant between both sides of the gasket just in case to prevent any leaks. Don't tighten those screws too much though as you can easily strip out the plastic (or just use rivets). Also I wish the rod holders were slightly deeper but I haven't had a rod pull out yet.

Very easy to install and they work well to hold poles, nets, anything narrow and long enough to fit like an umbrella. Will buy again if there is a need.

I installed these to use as rod holders on my old sit in kayak. Easy to install- drill a hole, screw it in and seal up the edges with caulk. They work well and have been durable.

I’m not using them for fishing so not sure how valid my review will be for those anglers out there.I use them to golden a pvc pipe that I put a light on for night time tours.I installed them onto Ocean kayaks in the stern and I wanted something that was sturdy but also flush mounted and that would not leak into the hull. This project worked for me and so far the extra money for the more expensive one here was worth in durability. The ones I bought before (not this company) snapped at the base. They are easy to install. Used a hole drill bit to cut the hole and no need to pre drill holes into plastic kayaks, just don’t over screw. Do it slowly so the threads don’t strip. Finger tight and flush to the deck.I recommend this product!
