Since your remote controls require line-of-sight to control your equipment, you won't be able to use them unless you can send the remote signal which is an infrared (or IR) signal to your equipment with a wired extender. This IR Receiver is used in tandem with the Blast IR Classic. The receiver is mounted on a keystone wall plate near your tv. If you're starting from square one, check out our IR Reciever Kits.

This thing doesn’t fit in a Legrand keystone insert or a Leviton QuickPort… sending it back, regrettably.

This keystone jack IR receiver works flawlessly with a dual-band control unit that has 12V power supply (doesn't have to be Sewell's BlastIR.) It allows you to have a professional-looking installation when you run a CAT5e or CAT6 cable in the wall or ceiling to the control unit -- no dangling cables, double-sided tape, etc. I like that it has a blue LED which lights up when it receives the IR signal from a remote control. The only minor issue I had was I could not get it to positively click into the keystone slot on two different-brand keystone blanks. Nothing that a utility knife can't fix.Highly recommended.
