I bought this as a replacement. I was pleased with the original one that I had, which was the same model, but I only gave it 4 stars because the battery lasted a couple years short of the ten-year life that it claims to have.

I bought two of these more expensive sealed units. One lasted 4 yrs. and the other 6 yrs. They are advertised as 10 yr. units. Buyer beware.

This model number is slightly different than mine.As I had hoped, this one fit my existing ceiling mount.A simple twist and it was activated. Just what I wanted.

I'm unable to activate the alarm and Kidde's help center is awful. They provide multiple 800 numbers but none of them connect to help,
