My 9 year old son really likes, this jacket, but it has torn in multiple spots. I've been doing a lot of little sewing jobs. The nylon fabric is thin as tissue paper. The tops and bottoms of the pockets have ripped at the seams. Several small tears on the sleeves. Also, the batting (filling?) has started clumping so that you can see the black interior through the yellow outside which makes it look cheap. We haven't washed the jacket yet -- this is just from wear. My son likes that it's very light and he can stuff it into his backpack and he wears it without complaint, so I don't regret buying it, but I think next year we'll try to find a better quality jacket.

This is a durable, lightweight option that looks good. It would not work well in colder temperatures, as it is very thin, but for fall or spring in the northern states, it is great!

My son loved this coat for the few days since he's had it. Today he fell on the blacktop at recess and the sleeve split open. The outside fabric is really thin, but the coat was really warm so we thought it would've been stronger. He'll continue to use it this year but we're sad that it's already ripped within less than a week.
