About this item

  • [Protect and Extend Battery Life]: This car flameout switch can prevent the car battery from running out of power due to long term parking, aging wiring, forgetting to turn off the lights and other reasons. This 12V car battery kill switch can maximize the retention of car battery power, effectively protect and extend the life of car battery.
  • [Low Power Consumption and Good Stability]: Automotive power-off switch rated current: 250A, rated voltage: 12V/24V, standby power consumption: 1mA, power-off threshold: 11.8V±0.2V/23V±0.2V. Instantaneous current: 500A. Operating: temperature: -22°F-194°F. Redesigned 12V remote control switch, effectively improve the reliability when using.
  • [Smart Battery Disconnect Switch]: When the voltage is lower than 11.8V, this car disconnect switch will automatically cut off the power supply after 120 seconds to save power; when the voltage is higher than 13.2V, the remote control is invalid, and can only be controlled by a manual switch to prevent the power supply from being cut off due to an accidental action during driving.
  • [Magnetic Latching Technology]: This car battery disconnect switch uses a new type of relay to control the disconnection and cut-off of the magnetic principle, with the standby current is as low as 1mA, which is more energy-saving. It completely solves the problem of power consumption in parking.
  • [Ease of Installation]: This 12V car battery disconnect switch adopts a negative link method. The remote battery disconnect switch is equipped with suitable battery clips and connecting studs, easy and convenient wiring, no need to cut the original wires, ensuring stable function and reliable operation. Note: Please be sure to turn off the power before installation, and please do ignition test after installation.
  • [Widely Application]: The automatic power-off switch is suitable for most 12V vehicles, including cars, boats, RVs, trailers, trucks, ATVs, UTVs, motorcycles and vehicles; Note: The size of the switch is 3.3 “x2.4 ”x1.4. It fits negative poles of 9-13mm and 15-17mm but is not compatible with vehicles that have small pile heads.

This battery disconnect is great for storing vehicles shorter term, although because this one has a very small power draw for longer term storage a manual switch would be better at not draining the battery. This ensures that any parasitic draws on the car battery or the car's computer don't drain the battery while being stored, and allows for just pressing a button to disconnect or reconnect the battery.

I installed this on an older vehicle that has been having an issue with the battery dying frequently. I've looked around and tried to find the source of the battery drain, but haven't been able to yet. I got this remote battery shut off switch so I can just turn it off to keep the battery charged up between uses. The installation was very simple and the remotes came with batteries. After installation I tested it a couple times and it worked perfectly. It does sit a little crooked on my battery because of an air intake tube/hose, but I tightened all the connections pretty tight to keep it from moving around and causing any issues. I also added the little piece of foam that came with it between the post and clamp just as an additional precaution too keep them from touching. It's a good value for me since it means I can take my time searching around for the drain, but still be able to use the vehicle whenever necessary.

Got this to control power going to my 1000 watt inverter that is used for emergency power. It works perfectly, the remote is pretty useful although I turn it on/off from the switch. Tools are needed for the install, but you can clearly hear the click that disconnects the negative terminal. There are instructions but it's pretty self explanatory and would be easy to put on a boat or RV, I don't think it's feasible for a modern auto, as there would be very little space for the module to be placed. So for a theft protection device on a new car, probably not going to be satisfactory.

This install was a simple drop in part installed on a battery terminal. So far it is working perfectly to stop the random battery drain on a 94 Chevy K1500.

I ordered three different kill switches for three different vehicles. We installed the other two and then went to install this in an old Toyota RV. We spent a good ten minutes trying to get this to fit tight on the negative battery post without success. The best position had the switch's post touching the battery post - so no good.Luckily, one of the other kill switches had short 2-3 inch cables from the box to the connectors. We pulled that switch off the other vehicle and then installed this one in the other vehicle, 2002 Dodge Durango. This worked fine. So, I dropped one star because the way the connections are attached to the box can prevent this from installing in certain vehicles due to space. You need enough room next to battery for this switch to connect. With the Durango, this switch works great. I did notice that if you use the remote, and click "on" and then "off", there is a delay before the switch flips. I suspect this is due to the electronics in the vehicle as there is no delay in a 1976 no electronics vehicle. We tested the remote while the engine was turned on and it was disabled. It comes with two remotes. This was installed to prevent the battery draining in periods of no use. For that, it should work well.

Great unit for the price. Works as expected and not difficult to install. Both key fobs work good and it’s a good source of added security and a battery saver!
