Works as advertised. Not much of a horsepower boost but a little slightly faster throttle response. Credit to Mazda for not restricting the air intake on the miatas. However what I really wanted was to be able to HEAR the motor so I could hit the gear shifts faster without red lining it or staring at the tach. It did help a little but the kit on my 4 runner sounds like a beast compared to this smaller engine. Maybe it's just because it's only a 4 cylinder. so 4 stars giving it credit for easy install.

If you install this per instructions (which are pathetic), you'll use the large black hose in the picture. You might notice that the diameter of the hose is no bigger than the diameter of the stock intake.If you use the hose, it sounds and drives about the same as stock, and looks kind of stupid under the hood.If you leave the hose off, it's no longer a "cold air" intake, although you'll be sucking mostly cold air through the hole at the front of the engine compartment.However, with the hose off, it actually looks kind of cool, and it is noticeably louder (in a good way). May not be any faster, but it sure makes me want to drive faster just to hear it howl.Pretty expensive for the useful parts.

Very easy to install. I am not sure this does anything to be honest. I found no difference after the install. I think my car's pick up is better but I have no dyno to check it. Its very easy to install.

I received my filter in time, the filter box was open, maybe because of the Customs office(?)But I noticed one of the metal parts, the one that connects at the end of the flexible hose was damaged like if someone dropped it hard, and the paint was really damaged, didn't like that at all...everything else was fine
