So far so good, the main unit display connects no problem to sensors outside and elsewhere in the house. Battery life has been fine through the summer, 2 months and counting without having to replace them.

Bought this to monitor the temperature and humidity in a large, finished basement, and to that end it works well, with a few exceptions.1. Wish it came with an AC adaptor for the base/display unit. The 2 AA batteries last about a year, but not having to reset the unit and repair the sensors after changing them out would be nice too.2. One of the sensors was faulty, but the manufacturer replaced it without much fuss. (Replacements can also be purchased separately thru Amazon.)3. The black on gray LCD display is fine if you're standing next to it, but difficult to read from more than 3 feet away. Newer model weather stations have color on black displays which would be nice on this one. (I know its an older model...)4.Due to the base design, this can't be wall-mounted and remains a table-top only unit. Less than ideal, but not a deal breaker.Overall, this has be a great tool for monitoring different areas of my basement. I would recommend it if you are looking to monitor different zones in a building.

This weather station has been great for monitoring the temperature of rooms in the house and outside. The sensors are great quality too and I haven't needed to replace the battery in over a year. The only thing that is marginally annoying is that I didn't get a backlit model so this one can sometimes be hard to read in some light settings, but given the price that is a small price to pay. It has been so useful, I bought another one as a gift.

Quick to set up. Had multiple sensors with my very old La Crosse and set up was a chore. With this set up all 3 sensors paired with the base unit with one button press! Nice.

A surprisingly good design, 4.8 stars. For the main unit and three remotes, you will need 2 AA alkaline batteries each, 8 total. The deluxe: Accurate! Remotes match each other, and other devices. The remotes deploy easily. I attached the remotes to wood surfaces with #8 1¼ inch lath screws using the provided hole through the remote. You can also loosely hang the remotes on a #6 pan-head screw, but that is not secure in earthquake country. The battery door is accessible when mounted, so you don't need to take it down to change batteries. When set up properly, the base unit calibrates time to WWV exactly to the second, and matches internet time on the computers, so I can carry it around the house to set the other clocks. My remotes are deployed in the basement, the garage, and a northeast-facing corner in the back wall, just below the roof overhang. Now I know how warmly to dress before leaving the house, or raiding the freezer in the garage. The semi-deluxe: The main unit and the remotes are designed for a pair of 1.5V alkaline batteries. The "low battery" warning appears for 1.2V NiMH or NiCD batteries. The main unit draws about 0.4 mA. A pair of 2850 mAh Duracells should provide an estimated 7000 hours of operation (9+ months) between battery changes. The display is black on gray, a bit hard to read, but a backlight would mean more frequent battery changes, as would lower-capacity rechargeable batteries. The unit needs calibration and resynchronization after battery changes. I'm tempted to void warranties and add a socket for a wall wart on the main unit.Minor quibble: The humidity sensor "frowny face" ☹ appears when humidity drops below 40%. That is "standard" thinking, but some allergists recommend 35% to 40% indoors, and 68 to 70 ℉ in winter (wear a sweater) for respiratory health and control of dust mites. So ignore the frowny face, or choose a different LaCross-compliant allergist. This is a difference of opinion, NOT a design flaw - the design (and implementation) is suprisingly good. The outside sensor is fairly well protected from rain and sun by the roof and the high corner mounting, but I worry about rain and driving winds from the northeast. Perhaps the La Cross 925-1418 Sensor Shield will work, but the TX141TH-BCHV3 sensor is not specifically mentioned in the recommendations, and one of the Amazon reviewers says it does not fit. I will probably build my own weather shield ... and see if wasps build nests in it.

I have an older La Cross wall weather clock that’s around 15 years old and still works great - the remote sensor has been outdoors. I lose power a lot and wanted to put some sensors in my refrigerator and freezers so I could monitor the safety of the food during power outages. I bought a different one and it wasn’t able to transmit through the freezers to the base station. I bought this unit and it works just fine. Freezer in the basement transmits perfectly to the base station upstairs in my family room. My only complaint is that when I put all three sensors next to the base station, one sensor temperature was a few degrees off and all of them had the humidity reading varying by a few percentages. But in the refrigerator and freezers, I don’t care about the humidity. So overall I have been very happy. I bought it in June and so far everything has been fine.

I have a heated garage some distance from my house and a basement shop that is heated only with a space heater when it's super cold out. This wireless gizmo allows me to keep tabs on everything from the comfort of my kitchen when the weather is really cold. It picks up the time and date by satellite so I always have the correct time and date, just in case I don't know the date . . . Like if I've been on a bender or something. It's also fairly attractive and unobtrusive on a counter or desk top. The temperature sensors are all within a couple of degrees and the humidity sensors are all within about 5% of each other. That's the best you can expect from one of these inexpensive units and really all you need. The only down side so far is that the display is not back lighted, so readability is dependent upon ambient lighting. Otherwise it's a clear enough display.

I love these indoor/outdoor weather stations and have owned a lot of them over the years. Some have lasted and some haven't -- usually the outdoor sensors go bad. But this unit has been terrific so far -- and getting a large, nice looking base station and THREE remote sensors is very good deal. I am impressed with the range of the signal and the signal strength. One sensor is about 40 feet from the base with an interior windowed door and an outside window between the sensor and the base, and it works fine. You get a lot of information on the base display (time, day, temp at the base, 3 remotes, humidity readings). I don't think you can do better for the money.
