Not at all pleased with this. It appears to be accurate in its readings, but the display leaves a LOT to be desired. You can't read the screen during the day without getting right on top of it because it is so dim. And, I'm really disappointed in the way it maintains its statistics-rainfall in particular. I want to know how much rain has registered TODAY, not in the last 24 hours (which can extend into yesterday). The YTD accumulation has a similar problem; apparently the year began when the station was installed and not Jan 1. And to top it all off, the rainfall display changes itself no matter how I try to set it. If it hasn't rained in the last 24 hours, the display changes to say how many day it has been since it rained. NOT what I want to see. I won't get this brand again.

This replaced a much more expensive brand weather station I had, but couldn't justify the replacement cost of it when it broke. This is a great value for the money. The color screen is modern, readable, and provides the info. Setup was easy. I have the rain collector about 70 feet or so away from my kitchen and the temperature sensor is probably only 20 feet away in a shady location. (I mounted the rain station on a wooden post I stuck in the ground. The temperature detector is mounted to an old scrap of wood I had so it would not fall over.) I have not had any problems with connectivity. I did replace the batteries in the rain collector/wind station part after about 4 or 5 months - as expected for using AAA batteries.

I am SOOO disappointed! I tried a couple different brands and one stopped communicating and the other had a worthless phone app and would never let me set it up properly. Even the tech support on their website was pointless so I returned those. I looked VERY carefully for the third, which was this La Crosse unit - a brand I have used and trusted. I got it all unpacked and set up. Then the sun came out in the windows behind it, with blinds closed, and it became too dim to read. I tried several times to run the brightness up but 4 was the highest no matter what, and even in the morning with NO SUN it is very very dim. It had every category of monitoring that I wanted but the display is just TOO DIM to read easily during the day. I could not be more disappointed, so I am absolutely DONE trying to find a good weather station! Each one had it's own weak point or points.

Don’t buy this product. First it says WiFi. And it was not compatible. Never opened. And when I return it they gave me a gift card. Wow. Never asked if I want my money back. Bye at your own risk

I appreciate all of the information without being over the top data. The weather icon is not initially accurate but the directions state this will take up to a week for the computer to understand trends. The manual is very easy to follow and understand as is the initial programming. Mine registered .01 inch of rain initially but it was very easy to reset just that. No complaints and only compliments so far. I do like that this has no app because I don't want to connect to my home Wi-Fi and do love that I can move this up to 300 ft away. I need the longer distance to keep away from trees and our home so appreciated the extra long transmission distance. I understand that the sensor solar panel is to allow the unit to run off of sun during daylight hours if the sun is bright and otherwise the sensor runs off of the 3 AA batteries so this is very nice and will prolong the life of the batteries. Also, our old, very old model inside base only ran off of batteries. This model has an internal CR2032 battery to keep the settings but needs to be plugged in otherwise to monitor the data so I did have to move this to a counter setting which is not a big deal.
