Fabulous, absolutely fabulous! It accurately weighs small lizards, spiders, earthworms; it even weighed yesterday. Perhaps the mind is going. I’ll start over.This extremely delicate and precise scale is a great device to have for many more uses than came to mind when I ordered it. I was only thinking about coffee. I now know to use it to determine serving sizes of many seasonings and fresh plants. I keep and can now measure accurately, gram pieces of gold and other precious metals; something I do as both a hobby and somewhat different way of saving. I have a mountain of prescription drugs, as I have a plethora of illnesses and conditions that help make my “Golden Years'' a bit more like plastic. This scale provides me with an accurate weight, and therefore count, of any of them.It’s a bit much for a kitchen scale, but no less fun and valuable to have for it. It’s expensive for a kitchen scale, but if that doesn’t matter, well, I’d seriously consider getting it.

The 5000g Lab Scale works for so much more than just in the laboratory. Although at the current price (over $100), it is higher priced than many other "kitchen" scales. I'm using it to measure spices, where precision is important to me and my customers. But I also found it was perfect for weighing out small beads I sell by weight. I can see where it would be perfect in the kitchen for smaller ingredients that are measured by weight (much Gluten Free and Keto baking is done this way). Overall, there was a bit of a learning curve, but the manual and intuition made it easy. It is on the larger size (not huge, but certainly bigger than most kitchen scales).

If you are looking to get a scale that helps with portion control or counting units, this is awesome! While positioned as a scientific scale, this works really well for measuring food in grams, KG or Lbs. the precision is really nice, with the unit having no problem measuring very small items. I've used it to count vitamins, mixing powders against serving sizes and overall just seeing what things in my kitchen weigh.Getting used to the scale modes and button does take some getting used to, but once you understand how to switch modes it becomes pretty intuitive. I've been able to show our two kids how to use it, and they've been measuring Cheerios in a tared bowl for example.The unit is easy to use and the display is quite visible. It features a bright backlight and a huge digit display. The scale has three adjustable feet and a cool level built into the front corner. Inside is a big 6V battery, giving this use plugged in or on a table for extended periods of time. Overall really cool product that has nice accuracy and very good precision.

This is a great feature-packed scale, but best suited for the classroom and laboratories, not kitchens. Even though the scale’s dimensions are accurately listed in the product description, it’s difficult to gauge its true size and suitability for home use. The scale is easily two and a half times the size of a standard kitchen scale. For those with limited counter space, this may not be the best choice, as it is almost comically oversized. But it works perfectly and is exceptionally well made.

The number one thing is it was obviously a return from someone else. The box it came in was all smashed, torn and OLD looking, like a box you’d find in your attic from 50 years ago. The calibration weight was missing and nothing was wrapped. The number two thing is that it is extremely inaccurate. My 2kg weights read between 2 and 50 grams over. Not even consistent wrong numbers. My 5kg weight wouldn’t even read at all. The manual had no indication on how to calibrate it. Just says it was calibrated at the factory. On the plus side, this scale has a LOT of features, too bad I lost all interest in trying them.
