My parrot is 41 years old and I am always trying to find quality, safflower free, food for him. This is a nice mix of seeds that seem very fresh. My parrot seems to really like the flavor and I am happy to provide him with a new mix for a change. We are both happy with these. Highly recommend!

I ordered this for our military macaw who is well over forty years old. We usually buy him food that has nuts and fruit bits in it so I wasn’t sure how he would like this. Unfortunately, he wasn’t a big fan and every day he was fed this I found the entire contents of his bowl thrown onto the floor of his cage. He does forage along the bottom of his cage some but I didn’t see this food getting consumed as I had hoped. A shame that as the ingredients and quality seem better than other foods I’ve tried in the past. We also have a smaller Amazon parrot and he seemed to do better with this food. So, the macaw gives this one star, my Amazon gives it four (he ate some of it but not all), and I give it five for the quality of the ingredients and for the nearly 100 years this company has been around. Price is good too as there are no shells or other waste in the bag. Our average score is 3.3 stars.My Amazon rating system-Five stars-As described. May have a minor problem. Good to great value.Four stars-As described but may have a more noticeable flaw or problem. Or, not as good as value.Three stars-Good item. Has a flaw/problem that requires more work than should be invested in a product.Two stars-May be a good item with work. Or, doesn’t work for me but may for someone else.One star-Nope. This seems like a high quality blend. There’s a really good variety of seeds and grains. The individual pieces look clean, almost polished in some cases. It’s definitely better quality than the generic bird food I’m used to seeing. I found a similar product at PetSmart for $18.99 for 5 pounds, compared to this product which is $23.95 for 5 pounds. It seems like Leach Grain & Milling is a real company which is nice to see on Amazon. The nutritional composition of this blend is available, which is nice to have if you’re feeding this to a pet.

My pets seem to really like this birdseed food so I guess it's tasty? I haven't tried it myself LOL. It's a good size bag too, well depending on how many pets you have. Pretty colors but naturally so. Value for money is always such a subjective thing that I'm not sure how to answer that but it's cheaper than other products available. Seems like good quality. Not sure what else to say about it. My pets eat it, don't get sick from it, that's about all I can ask from this. Seems nutritionally balanced well.

I don't have a pet bird. I wish I did. Instead I have many pet wild birds outside and I thought they might like this. I wasn't wrong. This brings all the birds to the yard. Everything from little finches to crows. I honestly thing I might start buying this kind of bird seed instead of what I've been buying at the feed store because I don't have to buy two or three different kinds to get the mix of birds. This mix is a little pricier for a smaller bag, BUT by the time I buy three different bags to cater to different types of birds, it equals out to about the same. The birds love it and I love watching them enjoy it.

I don’t know what magic is in this seed mix, but my birds act like I just served them a five-star buffet. They dig through it like tiny feathery treasure hunters and eat every last piece, no picky behavior here. It actually smells fresh (not like old seed dust), and it’s got a good variety of real ingredients like pumpkin, hemp, and all the good stuff.Their feathers look glossy, and they’ve been in extra chatty moods since I provided this. I think they’d give it five stars too, that is; if they had thumbs.
