Antique finish was very hard to find…seems discontinued in local hardware stores and by original manufacturer. This spout blends in and was only one I could find to match.

The spout looks like a normal spout, has a good O-ring for the slip-on installation over a 1/2" (ID) pipe (5/8" OD) and comes with an Allen wrench for tightening.Anybody with just a bit of basic skills can install the spout. Make sure you clean the pipe well, especially in the spot where the O-ring will sit. You want a tight water seal.However, I am disappointed at the lack of quality in materials. For some reason, the manufacturer decided to use a plastic diverter plate instead of other materials. After 4 years (yes, only FOUR years), the plate cracked and would fail to divert all water to the shower head. IMHO, had that plate not been made of brittle plastic that is prone to cracking from heat exposure, the spout would last much longer. There is nothing wrong with the rest of the spout. Our previous spout lasted two decades for comparison.Fortunately, Amazon has the item in stock locally so we will have it tomorrow and I can install it asap to have a good shower experience without wasting water.Otherwise, on the positive side, the "antique brushed brass" finish matches our existing "antique" shower fittings decently. By "decently", I mean the match is approximately 95% in color, hue and brushing. It is sufficient for us.

Good match for my existing fixtures. This brass is hard to find. This spout is the type that slips over a copper or PVC tube. It does not fit onto a threaded fixture.Works as I wanted.

Good replacement for my old spout. It can be mounted ether on a copper pipe (plastic insert provided), or, in my case, a threaded 1/2" pipe that was extending 4 1/4" from the wall. Just screw it in. You will need a bit of Teflon tape or similar on the threads.
