Got this as a backup because my area lacks infrastructure charging in my cold area of the country. It is designed to use a regular three prong US plug so I will plan to use it on the road with the plugs that hotels have for block heaters. This will charge up to 12 A so the charge is slow as you would expect from a Level 1 charger. The cord is thick and sturdy and seems very durable. The lights on the charger have a key that shows when things are working well and when there might be a problem. There is a nice legend in the owners manual so you can tell exactly what is going on.It is designed to be used in a home (garage, etc) and comes with screws to attach it to the wall. There is a temperature range of -22F to 122F and nothing says it can’t be used outside as I indicated above. There is an app that you can install in your phone where you can connect to the charger through Bluetooth which is nice (especially if you are using this in a bind or at a hotel). It even comes in a nice carrying/storage case that you can keep in your frunk.I gave this a try at my house using a regular plug in. I got it going and used the app. I connected thru the WiFi at my house and it seemed to work well. I was glad I set everything up (account, connection, etc) before waiting until the last minute. Having this with me honestly gives me piece of mind since I travel a lot and the mileage varies a ton depending on outdoor temps. I have a Level 2 charger at my home but I’m glad I can take this with me if needed. I gave it 5 stars because I like the ability to use the app with the charger. Level 1 chargers take a long time to work so I think it’s important to know that going in but for what this is, I really like this model.
