Took a bit more effort than I thought to get it set up and cut through. Now is on, works fine.

Bought this for my Ridgid 4512 table saw, and have a few observations. First, the photo on the website is of the bottom. The top is flat and similar in color to the orange that Ridgid uses. Second, use a board across the top as the instructions state, and when you raise the blade to cut the slot, you don’t want to go to slow or you will smell burning. When I sped up the smoke went away. Make sure you adjust the front screws that are specifically mentioned on the sticker on the bottom of the guide to eliminate any movement once the guide is installed. After I had the insert properly installed, I proceeded to do some cuts for runners and fences for a crosscut sled. The zero clearance worked great with a diablo 40t multi purpose blade. Not surprisingly, use of this insert prevented the dust collection on the 4512 from functioning and I ended up covered in sawdust. This is due to no slot for sawdust to enter the vacuum chute below the saw, and I expected this to happen. So if you take time, follow instructions, and don’t mind a little sawdust this is a sturdy well designed product, with nice little adjustment touches to mask it fit tight and level in the saw.

I've set mine up and made a few cuts with it already. This is totally worth the money. I use my riving knife so this is great for me. If you do not, get the RG-6 for dado blades. It will work fine for a single blade and does not have the slot for the riving knife. I have nothing but good things to say about this insert. It fits multiple saws, not just the Rigid as advertised. See photos. It is dead flat and I was able to adjust it in perfectly with the stock adjustment screws. The screws on the inser itself make for a very tight fit so it aligns itself to the same spot if ever removed and reinstalled. I have several times already and it has lined up perfectly. It does not flex under reasonable pressure. For the purposes of this review I pressed down on it to see it it has any deflection. I had to press unreasonably hard to get it to flex.I will mention when the insert's adjustment screws are set, it takes a little force (slight drop of the fist) on the screw end to get it to snap into place. No big deal, just want to let users know in case they think the adjusted to far. Just get it loosely adjusted and back the screws out evenly in small increments until tight when insert is fully seated. In short. It is sturdy, flat, easy to install and adjust, has room for riving knife (which you really should use) and it is not that expensive. Buy it.

I happened upon the Leecraft table saw inserts on Amazon and took a chance at purchasing one for my Ridgid R-4512 table saw. When I opened the package I was instantly impressed with the quality and engineering that was put into this product. I followed the clear instructions from Leecraft and installed the insert. I did use a strip of blue painters tape over the soon to be cut line just as a precaution to avoid any tear out which there was none. The difference in this strong well made insert versus the flimsy thin metal insert that comes stock on the R-4512 is night and day. With the Leecraft insert, my accuracy has gone from hit and miss to 99.9 percent dead on! This insert is stiff and does not bend when you are cutting a dado or some other thin piece that is smaller than the metal insert that came stock and actually bends when making a cut. I know many of you R-4512 owners know the frustration that I am speaking of. After installing and seeing first hand the quality of this product that same day I ordered another insert for dados. I did not have a second insert in my budget but it just had to be done. I seriously cannot say just how happy I am with my table saw and it`s accuracy post insert. One other very important thing about this insert is that it has two back out screws under the lip so you can back the screws out until you have a custom no wiggle or slop fit. It also has all of the adjustment holes already drilled so you can level your insert very easily. The thin stock insert was always a nightmare to try and level exactly as it should be. I truly hope this helps other woodworkers to discover this product so that you can increase the accuracy of your cuts. I will also have a third Leecraft insert zeroed for 45-degree cuts. It doesn't get any better folks. You can purchase Leecraft inserts for other brands of table saws also. I would give this product ten stars if possible. No regrets with this product!!!

This is a custom-fit product made to specifically fit the Ridgid R4512 table saw (in the case of the insert here), with through-holes at exactly the correct locations to allow adjustments of the insert in place using the five leveling screws the insert rests on. It accommodates the riving knife, although you have to remove the knife to make the initial plunge cut up through the plate. (Don't go removing the bolts to remove the riving knife; just flip the orange handled thing next to the blade upward like you have to do to change the blade, then pull the orange handle away from the blade to allow the knife to simply slide up and out along its curved slot that follows or parallels the circumference of the blade.)The instructions for the insert were straightforward, and the plunge cut went without a hitch, just make sure you have a board clamped down or otherwise secured over the insert to hold it firmly down during the initial plunge as the instructions indicate. The result is a slot that exactly fits the width of the blade to the degree the blade makes slight noises against it when raised and lowered before and after use.I doubt you'd be able to make an insert any better than this, and with the adjustment screw at the back underside you can bring it very close to snug, with little play once this adjustment is made. The cost is much less than other after-market inserts, too. You really won't go wrong here.
