My husband was in need of gaiters for wet and snowy hikes. These fit well and cover his shoes adequately. They will work great to keep his feet dry and his shoes a little cleaner. They will work in summer with shorts and in other seasons over pants. The only con would be the plastic like feel and the noise they make.

I’ve been getting more into hiking and a bit of mountaineering lately, but didn’t have all of my own gear, so I’ve slowly been accumulating it. I saw these gators pop up and couldn’t pass.So, the things I LOVE:-they are full calf length-they have an adjustable foot wrap (with the push-button adjustment)-the Velcro created a secure, but not restricting fit-the fabric is VERY strong-the large size fits my calves perfectly. I have medium-sized calves (for a female). So I’m not sure how the men’s large would fit on others—but I definitely recommend doing measurements to make sure it’s a solid fit, since these seemed tight on the calves for me.Overall, I am stoked for these and will be using them for hiking, snowshoeing, and climbing, if I ever get there.Love, love, love these and would absolutely recommend them. I showed them to my experienced mountaineering friend and he was impressed. Very blown away by the quality and precise fit. And I LOVE the foot loop that is made of thin wire, as opposed to a bulkier plastic heel loop. Hoping it lasts, if it doesn’t—I’ll update my review.
