It also helps break up the shape of your lens, making it less noticeable to wildlife. The LensCoatNikon 70-300 f/4-5.6 VR features access to the auto focus and VR controls. A notch on the last segment lines up with the white dot indicator, making it easy to quickly line up your lens with camera mount even with the cover installed. Please note that the LensCoat for the Nikon 70-300 f/4-5.6 VR cannot cover the fixed portion of the lens barrel due to the manner in which the lens barrel extends/retracts leaving a small section exposed when the lens is fully extended.

I found this to be a great fit. Also shooting in cold weather it helps when holding with the bare hand.I found nothing negative about this lens cover. Price was reasonable. Wouldrecommend.
