This microwave has a ton of room inside and works well. I am not totally convinced the sensor cook works great, it tends to overcook but nonetheless, great microwave. I installed it in a cabinet with the corresponding trim kit. Inside of the microwave is gray. It looks great, is easy to use and fairly quiet.

It has all the bells and whistles you want in a microwave. It’s quiet and the part I like most is being able to see the numbers to enter times. It is about 3” wider than the old LG model we had. It has a locking feature for the door but it can be disabled.

Bought this oven from a freestanding local appliance retailer but review it here, as with other things, because of Amazon’s visibility in retail sales.Overall, easily the best microwave oven I’ve owned when cost is factored in. (Some seasoned salesmen I’ve dealt with discommend paying a lot for a microwave oven, because they say it’s unlikely to withstand more than a few years’ frequent use; my previous few have each lasted two to three years. I can’t guess why this oven’s other reviewer says they paid $350 to repair theirs, instead of just choosing and buying a new one.) Despite the modest price, this oven’s magnetron is powerful (1200 watts) and seems to heat oven contents smoothly, turntable is very stable (although heavy objects make it strain and so are best placed close to the center), inverter allows heating at tenths of full power, controls have lots of settings, and interior has a curved back that’s easier to clean than sharp corners would be, in a dark metallic gray color that doesn’t show up food specks, which are inevitable even when you clean it frequently, as I do. Door latch has child-safety lock on the side that is a little awkward but can easily be kept in disabled position.The keypad is a drawback, though. The buttons are balky; any single one responds just once if pushed very rapidly (as for, say, 5 minutes 55 seconds). Worse, it’s easy to slip up in reaching for any particular button, so I usually have to try to press each button more than once, even several times, before it responds; that goes even for the start button. I may be to blame in failing to sense the correct positions, but I think it would serve LG’s users if the company made the touch sensors a little bigger or more responsive.Also, when five minutes have passed since the oven stopped running, the keypad annoyingly keeps it idle if I try to restart it unless I open and close the door, in order to keep a careless user from heating the oven empty. It would be better if, once the machine had alerted the user by failing to start, perhaps with a warning signal and readout, it let them restart it a moment later on a second try without making them reclose the door. Never had these irksome inconveniences with any other keypad-equipped microwave, and I’ve used many. Shape up your product a little, LG.

Don’t buy this very expensive microwave. The LED lights are failing after two years making it really hard to program. Not what I have come to expect from LG
