I maintain two small outboard engines for our sailboats and only change the lower unit gear oil about every three years as they each see less than 25 hours of operation per year (again, they're sailboats ;-)).Before this, I had been filling the oil by just lying the motor on its side on bit of an angle and pushing the tip of the oil container into the lower fill hole and giving it a few squeezes. This was very messy, sometimes introduced air bubbles, and wasted a lot of oil.This pump changes the whole game -- just drain the oil as usually, connect the fill tube (threads fit my Yamaha F4's perfectly), and give it a few pumps until it shows up on the top hole. Much faster, less mess, and less waste! PLUS, you can store the oil bottle with the pump on it - it threads on and the pump part stores in the down position to fit on the shelf. One other delighter with this -- it comes with color illustrated instructions!

It's a real nuisance to put oil into my 2kw generator, and this is genuinely the thing I need. Up to know, it's been a squeeze bottle and something of a mess.Well enough made for an inexpensive plastic thing. If it fails or leaks I'll post it up.(part of the Amazon Vines program)

I previously only had the wide mouth pump and needed a narrow mouth version. This works for the traditional style 1 qt oil containers. Pump volume is the same as my wide mouth version. I don't notice any differences.I don't have any fill plugs that allow me to use the adapters, so no comment there. The hose is plenty long enough for filling my transmission. I just leave the fittings connected as they don't restrict flow or anything.
