Must have tool for Subaru CV’s with roll pins. It’s close but it clears the exhaust shields perfectly. Tool worked as needed no complaints.

This worked great on my 2000 Gen2 Outback. I can't imagine trying to get the passenger side pin off (access quite limited by the exhaust heat shields) if you're working underneath the vehicle without a lift and don't have this specialized punch. Not having muck with the exhaust is worth the price IMO.The main punch portion measures 0.212in [5.4mm] diameter, so a 7/32" [0.21875in] diameter extra-long punch could work in a pinch, but the smaller 0.138in [3.5mm] tip keeps the tool perfectly centered on the OEM roll pins and can help guide your driving angle to ensure everything is straight.Aftermarket roll pins typically have a larger middle hole, so the tip feature won't work as well for centering and axial alignment on those. The thinner aftermarket roll pins create a higher risk for driving a non-specialized punch through the middle of the pin and jamming everything up, so take extra care with tool selection if your car might have these.
