Edit: it’s a good saw. Like many rip saws it’s a little challenging to start but that’s not too unusual. The saw needs to be sharpened when you get it and the set is too heavy. If you can correct those two things it’s a pretty decent tool.

A good rip saw is a small shop necessity, and this one is way better than I expected for the price. It might be the last rip saw that I buy.

Cutting some old barn very hard pine. It's worth the cash paid and looks like it will outlast me.

Short of a chainsaw, I couldn't ask for more. Sturdy, delivered in good condition and does the intended job.

I have been a Carpenter since 1975. At that time every tool kit had at least one Rip Saw. These days no one seems to use them or know what they are. I am retired but I still do projects you never get saw dust out of your blood. I had to reduce the number of tools I owned my Old Rip saw was an antique Henry Disston that got brittle with age.I had a project come up where I needed a Rip Saw...and did not have one. I searched the internet but came up empty....I could have over paid on several other sights ....but when I came across this saw and it was exactly what I wanted I had to get it. Its got an heirloom quality to it like the saws of old. Honestly I have not used it yet...but I will this morning as I have a two inch thick piece of Padauk than I need to Book Match and do not have a Band saw large enough. I have ever confidence this will work perfectly.

Made some long rip cuts with pine boards in my handtool only mancave/one room wood shop. Being only 4.5 tpi it's not that easy to start but once it starts, its fast and straight. Not a fancy saw but a very good saw for the money. Works great with a saw bench.
