First of all - technically it does work, and it has a strong enough magnet to really be able to get fluid moving, even a liter or more at a time. Its also nice that it has an internal battery and can run on it for quite some time it seems (I didn't completely drain it at any point). That's where the positive ends however. My two chief complaints boil down to the following:1) Within only a few uses, the knob's plastic had given way to where it became impossible to press the knob down for the click functionality.2) Complaint 1 is a super big problem because the constant clicking required. There is *no* quick or easy way to turn the thing on and adjust speed. You MUST decide speed AND the amount of time you want it to run for each and every time. Why?! A timer is great as a feature I suppose (though I can't think of a single use case where being able to program a specific time would be important) but if you're going to include a feature like that, it should NOT be at the expense of the ability to use the product in a more basic mode. How about just a "Turn on" and then use the knob to adjust speed? I imagine thats how a magnetic stirrer is best used at least 95% of the time. Unfortunately this product lacks that ability altogether, which is a huge let down.So with the knob broken, I now simply have the little metal stud exposed which is all the more irritating to have to spin and click. I imagine this won't get much use because of these serious flaws and drawbacks.
