The build quality is good. It’s a good average matcha set that you would expect and it does its job. I’m no matcha expert so just copying videos and making matcha using it was easy enough.

This match set is very nice. The quality of the bowl and holder, along with their colors, are all great. The only thing I would have liked better is if the whisk holder allowed the whisk to fit so that the curled tips would sit below the lobe on the holder, as some other kits I’ve seen. It was easy to use, and I think it’s a very nice set.

I wanted to give this as a gift but surely could not because it turned out to be so nice I wanted my own. It is a great value, durable and a muted traditional color.

Okay. Confession time. I am a MATCHA FREAK. Yes, that is what I said.Let me start at the beginning- I could not STAND matcha. It tasted horrible and nothing you could tell me would make me like it. I tried many different top brands and the results were the same- YECH.Then I found a brand called Encha. That changed matcha for me. Now I LOVE matcha. I have like 7 matcha sets. Okay, at LEAST 7. Probably more like 10. Shhhh. Don't tel anyone.BOXThe box that this comes in is perfect for gift giving. It has nice thick solid foam for protection and makes a great storage box if you want to store your set inside. It should last quite some time. That is always a nice feature when you buy breakables.WHY DID I WANT YET ANOTHER MATCHA SET?Since it is confession time, I will tell you why I wanted this. I am an artist. I ADORE the color of the Encha matcha that I use. It is brilliant green and it brightens my day to use it. This matcha bowl is white inside which shows off the color of the matcha I use brilliantly. More fascinating than that, is that the color on the outside matches the matcha I use pretty well too! And the third reason well, I have two small Asian tea cups which match the matcha bowl giving me a beautiful little set when I want to have matcha for two.CHASEN/WHISKThe chasen in this set is a nice bamboo whisk. Now if you are new to matcha, you will need to soak this in really hot water BEFORE you use it to make it bloom. I just put the same temperature water that I plan to use for matcha (180F) into the bowl and the place the chasen/whisk in the bowl and let it stay there for around 4 or 5 minutes the first time. After that, it only needs to stay there a minute or two in future uses.Once you have the tea and water you want to drink for the match in place, you use a rapid wrist action zig zag motion back and forth across the bowl until you have a decent froth on top. Let the whisk rest on the stand that comes with this set while you drink.MEASURE/SCREENThe screen with this and the measure are both good quality too. The bamboo spoon is usually used in two scoops, but I stick to one as I tend to be sensitive to caffiene. The metal screen is used to press out the chunks of tea so that there are no lumps prior to whisking.POURINGThis bowl pours well into the two coordinating cups that I have which match it pretty well. It is a perfect way to have matcha for two.THE BOTTOM LINEThis is a nice matcha set which performs well and shows off the matcha nicely too.MY RATINGFIVE STARS. This one is a winner for me. It looks great and will make a wonderful treat on my week off in a few weeks where I am spending time with a dear friend who also loves matcha so we can take it with us to the "tea cottage" where we plan to have tea time and craft time to relax a bit from a hard year.PHOTOI hope to update with a photo once I get the matcha made with the coordinating cups.
