I'm giving it 4 stars for it working as described. Be aware that anything you make in this tastes nothing like actual lunch or deli meat no matter what recipe you use or how skilled of a cook your are. On the plus side, my dog loves the ground chicken patties I made, I can't say the same.

*Bonus mesh scrub cloth is helpful.I have 3 of these deli meat makers so that I can make 3 batches all at once in a large pot. I slice, separate with little pieces of parchment, and freeze all that we can’t eat in a few days. We take more homemade deli meat out of the freezer as needed. Simple and healthier! One star removed for lack of recipes. When I received this order, I found there were no included instructions or recipes to get started. That delayed my testing this product, but I read enough to figure out a recipe for my first try. Making this was EASY. Figuring out a recipe because I couldn’t find one was hard. This is “Turkey, Sort-of Salami.”I used ground turkey (2 pounds), some liquid smoke (1 TBSP hickory), some unflavored gelatin (1 packet OPTIONAL, but it’s supposed to help with things sticking together well and it does slice easily), real salt (1 TBSP, but I might use a little more next time), pepper (1 tsp), and garlic (1/2 tsp). I put it in my stand mixer and mixed it well, then put the entire amount into the WASHED and oiled (avocado oil) Deli Meat Press. Then, I put the oiled plunger/press flat side on top of the meat with the spring up. Next I put the lid on top of the spring and turned it until it locked. Last, I inserted the thermometer all the way into the meat through the lid. This was boiled in water, upright, until the thermometer reached 160 F and then some extra for luck…to 175-180F. I drained the liquid but did not open, and put it in the refrigerator overnight. The next morning, it was as you see here, but it had a layer of gelatin on the outside that I wiped off. This was a firm, easy-to-cut cylinder of Turkey, Sort-of Salami. The slices stayed together and make a good sandwich, though my kids were grazing on it straight.

So, everyone have pretty much started to think more in terms of healthier eating. Ditching the preservatives and other unnecessary ingredients are in our foods. Consequently, we have decided to ditch the unhealthy deli meats in favor of making our own. This product is made of stainless steal and comes with pretty much everything we need to get started toward our goal of eating healthier!! It is well made and feels solid! There are numerous replacement bags available via amazon so no worries about running out. We are excited to get started on our first batch of deli chicken meats!!

This was great. I was able to make homemade lunch meat from my grandmother's recipe. I've actually been hunting for one of these. It worked well. Just don't overfill it like I did. It's easy to clean and made a nice lunch meat loaf I guess you call it.

This press is much stronger than I expected. The cup will not deform when under the spring pressure. I did not receive any instructions or recipes. There's plenty of information and recipes available online. The listing gives all the basic information. Several plastic liners are included. These fit the cup nicely. They fold over the lip like a trash bag. The lid fits over it. The lid doesn't fit tight. This allows steam or liquids to escape. a quarter turn holds it on the cup. The plunger fits perfectly in the cup. Just loose enough to easily slide in or out while preventing meat from squeezing by. The thermometer inserts through a hole in the lid. It's the perfect length to put the end near the center of the meat when it's pushed all the way down. I'm happy with the quality. This will last for years.

Duncan Henry (look him up on youtube) first introduced me to these types of meat presses. They turn out excellent formed hams. I've had a Madax press for over a year and will compare to it.This press is made of a heavier gauge of material for the main vessel. The Madox weighs 300g and this OUMOR weighs 390g. The springs in both exert about the same force when compressed fully. The Madax has a shorter spring with a higher spring constant while the Oumor has a longer spring with a lower spring constant. The Madox would not press a partial batch well, but why would anyone make a smaller ham? These are sized to make about 2 lb (or ~1 kg) hams. The thermometer is calibrated to be correct out of the box, but you should check yours to ensure accuracy.Overall I give this meat press high marks. I can't really chose one over the other, so I suggest to shop on price if you're looking at both of these.

We love Greek Gyro at our house and this mold is the perfect way to make it so that it is in a pressed round. Once steamed, the Gyro (or any deli meat made with chicken, ham, pork, beef, etc.) can be broiled or grilled on a spit and thin slices cut off. It is also good for other pressed items. The press is made of high quality stainless steel and is easily cleaned in the dishwasher or by hand. It comes with steaming bags, a thermometer, and other accessories that are very useful. This meat press mold makes it possible to make preservative free meats at home.

The plate with the spring fits tightly enough that you can feel the air resistance as you push it in and pull it out. There are two bags that feel like turkey baking bags (high temperature) that should help keep the inside clean. But there's also the abrasive "silver cloth" that's included for cleaning. Once I've used the two bags, I think I may try cutting down some parchment paper sheets to fit inside to make releasing the cooked meat easier.I can't wait to make my own lunch meat loaf with this.
