There's nothing like laying out watercolor paints on a pristine ceramic container. This palette has a lot of room for a range of colors and for mixing. Because of the size and weight, it's only suitable for studio use, but it is really perfect for that. Like oil painting palettes of the masters, this is a work of art unto itself. It gives me joy just to look at it.

I love this palette, it is very large and heavy and I really like the space. It feels very durable. Meeden has great customer service as well.

Paint just mixes so beautifully on this palette. And cleans up to its pure white when finished. I love my colors to be fresh and transparent. Ceramic makes that easy.

I really love this palette! However it is HUGE! Definitely hard to travel around the house with because it’s also heavy. I knew it was going to be a studio palette but it really barely fits in my desk. I placed it on a lazy Suzan to help maneuver around it. If you have a lot of space for a studio palette it’s definitely worth it. Especially with the lid being present now.I love the amount of color slots, too, and I modified the corners with some hot glue to double the corner slots each to fit in 4 extra colors.It’s very easy to mix on the surface, however I do wish there was a way to adjust the mixing space to create separate mixing wells similar to their rectangle palette which has two mixing spaces. It’s very easy to clean.

I kept debating whether or not to buy this, but I'm so glad I did! I'm a beginner and I've seen the more expensive version (three times this price!) by another manufacturer and that just isn't in my budget. Many artists (my mother, included, who has been painting for over 60 years) will tell you it's not necessary to use ceramic, spend that much money, etc. They're right. But this is also the most awesome quality and I love the way watercolor behaves on ceramic vs plastic palettes. I have several plastic palettes of various sizes, plus a ceramic egg dish, and a small ceramic palette that came with an American Journey quinacridone color set that I absolutely love, but it only has 5 round wells, and 5 mixing wells.I figured that for a fraction of the price of the "other" big name ceramic color wheel palette, this one was worth investing in and I'm so glad I did! My plan is to initially only add my warm and cool primary colors, plus a few other staple colors I know I love and will use, really work on my color mixing and learning how the paints behave, and slowly fill in the other paint wells over time. This thing is HEAVY, BIG, and perfect as a stay-at-home studio palette. The cover is sturdy plastic that will provide a great, large mixing area! Another review said you can take sandpaper to smooth out the bottom if it's rough, but mine really isn't. I can't wait to start using this thing!

Large and easy to clean. Is heavy and not something you want to be moving about too often, but I prefer it way more to the plastic or metal ones.

Meeden ceramic palettes have become my favorite. Wide variety of sizes and configurations. Consistent quality. This palette is the big Grandaddy of them all. Well sizes comfortably fit your brushes, the mixing area is large and the colors mix well right out of the box.Things to consider:1. Be sure you have the space. It is a 12.5” square and ties up a fair amount of my table top.2. Be sure you are strong enough to handle it. It weighs a lot compared to my other palettes. It is a thick ceramic.3. It does not move around easily on the table top. I place a small hand towel under it.I love it and would buy again. It is half the price of other comparable palettes.

Sie ist zwar echt groß (32*32cm) und schwer, man kann mit ihr aber optimal arbeiten, vor allem wenn man größere Pinsel benutzt. Ein Deckel aus Kunststoff ist auch dabei, dass nichts einstauben kann.

I've placed it on a lazy Susan so it moves. Sturdy(heavy) plenty of room for loads of paint. Came with an elegant lid. Been waiting 5 yrs to get one. I'm holding a wee palette I struggled to work with. Will be doing a palette clear out for sure. It arrived in a huge box which contained the palette's box which had the palette nestled in Styrofoam and plastic so very secure packaging. I am staggered at the size but will certainly get used to it!!!

Until I splurged on this, I'd been using an assortment of smaller palettes spread out all over my table. This palette puts the paints I want in a single orderly circle with a generous mixing area in the center. The paints are always in the same order and are arranged as logically as I could want. The center of the palette, the mixing area, is easy to wipe clean with water as necessary so I'm no longer wasting time at the sink giving individual mixing containers a bath. This palette is big and heavy -- it's not going to be moving around often -- but it's not too big to take to the kitchen sink if I get totally obsessive compulsive about it. I cut a heavy silicone kitchen mat slightly larger than the palette and use that as a convenient dust cover. So glad I bought this.

My watercolor palette is 23 year old plastic and is in good shape but not conducive to the way I paint now versus being a beginner watercolours. I've been using a variety of white thrift store plates for clean mixing a long time. It works but it's inconvenient.I've wished for a palette like this for years. Set up in a color wheel format, lots of well designed color wells, large mixing area, and easy to clean non staining white mixing area. It's also heavy and if you add rubber pads to the bottom it doesn't budge!The seller deserves 5 stars as well. I would say overpackaged for protection and 36 hours from order to delivery!!!The lack of a lid is obvious in the description and is not a problem if you are a creative thinker. A piece of plexiglass and rubber pads will make a quick lid that is more sturdy than the cheap, thin plastic some palettes come with. Even easier...What artist doesn't have supplies in a zip top bag??? Or set your gator board on top when you're done for the day????I absolutely LOVE everything about this great palette including the half-price savings over the 'expert' brand. I would buy it again in a heartbeat!!! This is a nothing-in-it-for-me review. Fantastic product!
