Your cart is empty.This cajon is the wooden acoustic percussion instrument you sit on and play with your hands (pronounced "kah-hone"). It’s sometimes called a beatbox or box drum. The Meinl Percussion Compact Jam Cajon with snares is made in Europe with 100% Baltic birch. Baltic birch has a full, resonant bass note and warm tone. This wood species is also used in high-end drum set construction for players serious about sound. Inside are two sets of coiled steel snare wires fitted against the playing surface. These are the same type of snares found on snare drums, and they give you a crisp tone. A sound port on the rear helps develop bass notes and is a perfect microphone spot. Non-slip silicone feet allow the body to resonate to its fullest while providing stability. This instrument is ideal for acoustic gigs when a full drum kit can’t be used, and its compact size is designed to be travel friendly. Measures 10 1/4" W x 15" H x 10 1/4" D (holds adults). The Jam Cajon is made for easy transport and straightforward use so anyone can play it—regardless of skill level or age. No musical experience required. Designed in Germany.

I'm 214 lbs and it holds my weight. When not playing with this very nicely made drum, it serves as a conversation piece when friends are over and it looks good in my home. Small enough to not be in the way and big enough to create an unique sound. Feel free to place a microphone up to the hole if you have the means. The possibilities become endless for sound of you have the right electronics.

Can't fault it as a basic cajon. I bought it to chuck in car and get bashed about a bit without worrying too much about retuning etc. The snare is snappy, not tunable but for the money sounds great. No idea how long it will sound decent for. All in all really pleased as an entry level mini cajon is great.
