Received and the CD does not play. Everything else works but the CD spins for an second and then stops.

I have not seen a Memorex product in a very long time. I remember buying their blank cassette tapes way back in the day! This is a cd player with a radio. It has a collapsible antenna and can be used plugged in or with 6 batteries. I actually got 2 of these and plan to put one in our emergency kit (we live in an area with a Tornado season). It is lightweight but doesn't feel cheap. I love that it has a little handle. I played a couple of cd's on it and the sound quality was solid. I wouldn't say you could use this for a large party but if you were doing a game night or sitting outside or something like that it would be perfect!

I have hundreds of great CDs that are sitting in a cabinet for what seems like an eternity!!😕 These CDs are truly representative of some of the greatest music and artists that I found resonated with my moods, feelings, dreams, fantasies, and milestones in my life. The biggest issue is that until I noticed this compact CD player, I just wasn't focused on playing very nostalgic tracks that, in retrospect, I truly missed!!! WELL.....THOSE PROBLEMS HAVE BEEN SOLVED!!!!😃 The CD and AM/FM mini-boom box from Memorex has breathed new life into my CDs that have been in suspended animation for too long!!! This radio tuner with a top-mounted CD player is a neat little device that has lots to offer!!! It runs off of 6 "C" batteries for complete mobility or can be powered by the supplied AC power cord!!! Just the Memorex name brings back a true sense of nostalgia with the almost unforgettable jingle..."IS IT LIVE OR IS IT MEMOREX??"😄 (Referring to their top-of-the-line cassette tapes) This CD player is simple to use with the front-mounted LED screen and control buttons that navigate all of the possible capabilities this player has built in. Put in a CD and the unit will play the disc track by track. Or, if you are so inclined, you can program which tracks to play in an order you decide on!! The sound quality out of this rather compact unit is surprisingly good, and the volume is quite sufficient to sing along to the music without drowning out the sound from the player!!! The AM/FM tuner is analog in nature, but it is easy to tune and demonstrates fairly good reception even when not using the antenna provided!! Radio reception is clear and crisp.... better on the FM scale than the AM scale!!! The blue color of the unit is easy to look at and seems like an appropriate hue for a "throw-back" device. I am more than pleased with my order of this CD and AM/FM receiver!! It's a lot of fun to use, and I'm getting back in touch with all of the wonderful music I had stashed away for so many years!! 🚩I rate this unit a very satisfied 10 out of 10 because of the ability to effectively play my CDs, the clear, crisp sound produced by this unit, the better-than-expected AM/FM radio receiver, the ease of operation, and the affordable price!!! I dare you to have some fun and break out the CDs you have stored away, never thinking you would play them again!!! This offer from Memorex helps to link your present to your past regarding the resurrection of your cherished CDs!! You bought them.....now get to use them again!!! I highly recommend this CD and AM/FM receiver without hesitation!!! It's a good unit that will reunite you with great memories of the not-too-distant past!!!😊

Okay, so yes - CD's are a thing of the past to many and for some not their past at all, along with radio tuners and all encompassing items like this - a boombox. A grew up on boomboxes, when they were big and in your face, and when they got reduced to this size. Call it nostalgia, but I still listened to CD's and radio stations you have to tune to on the dial versus streaming. So, this helps me remember more simple times. The sound quality is okay - if you were looking for something brash and in your face this isn't it. Radio reception is decent, picks up the two stations I listen to just fine. It's portability works - provided you have an outlet. So, if you are looking for something in the workshop, she-shed or by the bed side this is for you.

I've been looking for a little CD player like this for a while now, and appreciate the old school vibe of this (even though it's much smaller than an 80's boom box). The CD player sounds better than I expected it to out of such a basic device/small speakers. I was also surprisingly happy with the radio reception on both FM and particularly AM, which I've had trouble receiving in my house even with higher-end devices. (I've only been using it plugged in, but will probably get some C batteries so that I have the option to use it as an emergency radio).Don't expect next-level sound quality, but not a bad choice if you're looking for a little player like this. One thing that did bug me was the misleading listing, where one photo states that it is a "portable cassette player" with an image of an old-school cassette. I was pretty much able to figure out that this does NOT have a cassette player option before ordering thankfully, but that's a super confusing (and flat out inaccurate) claim to make on your listing.

I LOVE this! I am so impressed. My baby loves music and we listen to the radio all the time. I was looking for a CD player as well so we can dance and sing all her favorite Disney songs without ads or other non-specific stations. These days it is hard to find technology like this!The sound quality on this is great and it's such a perfect size for her room. It is incredibly great value for money. I have it plugged in but I also love the option for batteries. It does it all and it's simple enough to show my little one how to use it! Long live ad free music!
