If you going do a lot of yarn. Don’t buy this winder. The Young will not stay in the yarn holder. It does not matter how many plies that you were doing. It pops right out. I would not recommend buying this product again.

It was very easy for my daughter to set up but I wish I would’ve read the reviews about how it only runs a few seconds and turns off. I do not recommend.

If I could give this zero, I would. DO NOT BUY!! I got it a couple days ago and couldn’t open it until today due to my busy schedule. First off, package was a little damaged upon arrival and over taped but I didn’t think anything of it as I know sometimes things get damaged during shipping. When I opened it, no instructions, screws, or charger were with the product that it should have come with. I found a charger of my own that would fit and I turned it on for a second to see if it worked and the charger did. As soon as I turned the product off, something “popped” inside of it and smoke came out. Avoid this product!! I don’t recommend it at all!

This machine is good. I wish it has a tight tension, but it is good for organizing your loose yarn. It has a good motor, I like the fact that the machine will stop when f the yarn gets tangled. You need to be patient at first but when you get how machine work you will loved it too.

I love the look of the yarn when it is finished winding. Love that it's electric. Down falls is it keeps shutting off as the ball of yarn gets bigger and you have to keep restarting. Periodically does not wind tight enough and the yarn drops to the bottom of the spool or gets wrapped around the bottom. It's all minor stuff that I can deal with. Might even be a user issue - who knows. Was thinking I could just put the yarn on and walk away but this is not so you must be in attendance at all times and it does not stay tight to the edge of the table so i hold it down with my hand to balance it out.

Being electric I didn't expect it to drag but it does. It also shuts off about every 30 seconds. Would not recommend buying this item.

So I decided to sell all my excess yarn from projects over the years (yes, reclaimed yarn is a thing) and this winder made a huge difference. I was able to wind all kinds of different designer yarns, fine fur yarns, fine mohair, and chunky yarn and they all made nicely wound 50g skeins. This says it is only meant for thinner yarns, but the trick with the thicker, chunky yarns is to use your hands to control the yarn feed instead of hooking the yarn through the metal feeder. Using my hands as the yarn feeder, I didn't find a yarn that I couldn't wind.Works fantastic and super easy to use. Well worth it.

I used this once to wind a single skein of fingering weight yarn (which is very very thin). It will not pull off a swift so you have to manually unwind the skein or it immediately stops. Even if you do that, it's still going to stop approximately every five seconds and you'll have to be right by it to constantly restart it. It's exactly as much work as a manual yarn winder but 10x more frustrating, at one point it even tangled my yarn. Not worth the money at all, does not work as it should be expected to.
